Corrosive Challenge - PWCO Guest DT, too!

Today's challenge at Corrosive Challenge is to use some buttons! Sounds pretty easy to me! This is the last chance you have to get in on the draw for the Kenny K prize for January, so link up your button creations this week.

I was asked to be this week's Guest Designer at Paper Works Co's Challenge, too :) So thrilled to get the invite there as they are another great Canadian-based operation. They have super cute stamps (including an exclusive line of RAM) nesties, Copics & more. Here's the sketch we were working with

This owl image is Webster, from Paper Makeup Stamps. (The sentiment is by The Angel Company). I just got him and couldn't wait to pair him up with this MME paper...isn't it perfect? This color combo also (not so coincidentally LOL) matches the Color Throwdown challenge...although my colors do look a bit off in the pic. I swear those owls look bluer in person. I have another card for the CTD126 that I'll post tomorrow...did it with these papers and they were still on my table when I went to make this card LOL.

PMS got some Moxie Fab MOJO!

Found myself sittin' around sick this week and doing a lot of surfing... I saw this week's Trigger Tuesday on Moxie Fab and immediately thought of this paper. The papers, ribbon and the flower buttons were all part of a kit from Paper Makeup Stamps a while back. This isn't the image that came in the kit, but I wanted to make a Valentine's Day card for a friend. I used the MOJO Monday sketch for this week...too bad it's not a contest week LOL as I never seem to get to play on contest weeks.

Here's the Moxie Fab Trigger Tuesday inspiration pic from Martha Stewart. The paper in the back is what struck me...and reminded me of the paper I used. that I see it again...I have paper much closer to that...hmmm...maybe I'll find time to play again? Right after I go find the recipe for the fudge and make some!

Raise the Bar with the CDAC Heart Hop!

Two fun things happening today...first's Raise the Bar day and Joni has challenged us to forget about traditional Vday colors and work with Blue, Purple and Yellow today. The second thing is that over at Crafter's Digital Art Centre they are having a "Heart Hop". Doodle Pantry is one of the Heart Hop sponsors and this is the image Laurie designed. I thought that pile of hearts would look cute in purple, yellow and blue, so I combined the two! I added some stickles to a random few hearts and I have NO idea what embossing folder that is on the mat... someone sent me some pieces already done :) I'm also entering this card in the Paper Pretties Challenge, which is sewing!

So, head on over to CDAC for the Heart Hop info and then join us at Raise the Bar for a color inspiration week.

Come meet Cupid Ridley today

So, last week you met Tango (She says a special "Hi" to Than). This week I'm thrilled to introduce you to Ridley! Now today Ridley is playing Cupid, but he can also be seen playing in the garden, delivering flowers and dressing up in a variety of costumes. Ridley is the kind soul that first introduced me to Digital Delights by Louby Lou, and is thus the reason I'm now on their design team (whoot whoot!). You're going to be seeing a lot of Ridley and his girlfriend Rosie around make nice! The Delightful Challenge this week is to make a love-theme project, and Cupid Ridley is perfect for that!

The bingo card is something I found on the internet...but it's not tagged, so I don't know where I got it. It came with a blank header, so I added the "HEART". Then I crumpled it up for some added dimension. The papers are some older Bo Bunny papers from my stash. I went looking for them so I could play along in the Bo Bunny Card Sketch Challenge this week. Bo Bunny is also having a giveaway on their Facebook Page, if you wanna look them up :)

We just got word from Jak Heath that her fundraiser for Katie Renz has brought in over $15,000 so far! WOWEE that is amazing support for a fellow crafter. Whether you've already bought this fabulous set of images, or you still need to go pick it up, Jak is offering up some fabulous prizes on her blog. All you have to do is make a card with one of the images from the set and link it up at this post.

Heartfelt Creations Day

If you're looking for a little bit of Spring-spiration, you've come to the right place. I've been playing with the Springtime Medley again...this time with the beautiful big Daffodil and the matching die cut. Here's a close up of the layers...three of them.

Feeling a little "moody"?

I just love "A Couple of Moodies"  from Paper Makeup Stamps for Valentine's Day :) This one is done with SU Markers and a water pen again. Isn't that flowing heart behind them gojus? Today's card is for the Sweet Stop Sketch 92. I had to make this card a bit larger (5x7) to accommodate the image in this sketch.

Corrosive Challenge Day - The Three R's

Today's challenge over at Corrosive Challenge blog is to reuse or recycle something from around the house. Well, not my strong I found a paper clip and thought it went well with this little geeky guy from Kenny K....our sponsor for this month. The sentiment is from TLC Creations. Come on over and play along!

Raise the Bar - Nesties, Embellies & White

I sure hope ribbon qualifies as an "embellie" LOL because it's too late to redo this card now! The challenge at Raise the Bar this week is N-nesties, E-embellies, W-white. This beautiful frame is made by Spellbinders for Heartfelt Creations Designs. That lovely couple behind the window is Paper Makeup Stamps' A Couple of Moodies. They're colored with SU Markers and a water blender on watercolor paper again (the Moodies just work so well for this technique). Thanks for stopping by today...please join us at Raise the Bar this week!

Doodle Pantry Mid-Month Release

I have two posts today :)
Please scroll down to see my post for Digital Delights.

We're still in "new beginnings mode" over at Doodle Pantry for this release :) Isn't this calf just adorable? I was a little intimidated trying to color it as I don't think I "do" realistic very well, but I was pretty happy with the result. This is the first image I've done on XpressIt paper, too...I'm going to reserve judgement until I try a few more images. It's different than the Flourishes paper I was using, so we'll see if I can adapt LOL. Don't forget to check out all the other new releases at the Doodle Pantry blog today...they are all fabulous (yes, Laurie pays me to say that ;) This layout is courtesy of the PaperworksCo sketch challenge. My card also fits the theme for the second Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge for January, which is a "love" theme. Play along for your chance to win some images!

Tango Skating by Digital Delights

Welcome to my very first post as a Designer for Digital Delights by Louby Lou! Please say "Hello" to Tango. Tango, please welcome my followers ;) Awww....I think you guys are going to get along just fine LOL In case you don't know, skating fever has hit Halifax, Nova Scotia (where I live). We are welcoming the Canada Winter Games to our fair city in just a couple of weeks and as part of that, organizers installed an outdoor speed skating oval in the middle of our city, in a park. There is free public skating there every day & evening and it's really cool to know that you're skating where future Olympians will be skating in a couple of weeks. ANYHOW... that's why I chose this image for my card today...besides the fact that he's just so darn cute!

He's colored with, get this, a mixture of SU Markers, Copics and Touch markers. I still don't have all the Copics and I can't recreate certain SU colors, so the hat and scarf are SU markers. The body is Touch markers...I bought those when I first got into the alcohol markers because they are cheaper and were carried locally when Copics weren't. And the purple shadow is the lone Copic on this card LOL.

Today's sketch is courtesy of Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge #7...hmmm...I meant to put some bling on those two teal pieces... have to go add those LOL.

Now over at the Digital Delights site you will see that Wendy is having a major clear out & retirement head on over there to pick up some deals. Plus, she's just added some cute Valentine's Day digi papers and an AWESOME set of "Tickets" to the store. And you still have a bit of time to enter your card in the SNR Digi Day challenge for your chance to win three Digital Delights images.

DIVAS Oldies but Goodies Blog Hop

Welcome DIVAS (and non-divas are welcome too) from Facebook! You should be arriving from Jennie's blog :) Thanks for stopping in today. For our Oldies but Goodies theme I pulled out and older nestie from my collection and some of my favourite paper from MME. I like this stuff so much that I went out and bought more...but then stashed it away LOL I actually made this card based on last week's ColorQ combo, but once again, I forgot to upload it in time...sigh... I just cannot enter that challenge! Oh well, I was slightly off and had to use Bermuda Bay instead of Taken With Teal (I purged all my TWT as soon as it was retired...hate that color). This cute flamingo is from Digital Delights by Louby newest Design Team assignment!

Thanks for stopping in head on over to Dawn Burnworth's amazing blog. If you just came to visit me and would like to start this hop from the beginning, please click over to Sue's blog.

You're the Cat's Meow ;) least that's what the card will say on the inside when I find that stamp LMBO. Francesca here is one of Paper Makeup Stamps' Cutie Critters. I always color my cats grey because I have a pure grey cat myself. I'm entering this card over at Card Positioning Systems for sketch 201.

Heartfelt Creations Day

Well, after the Christmas break, my MOJO took a little break too, but it finally came back! The new Springtime Medley release from Heartfelt Creations just blew all the winter cobwebs right out of my barn LOL. To make this card, here's what you do...

Card size 4.25 x 5.5. Randomly stamp script background on green card base. Cut and emboss HCD708 Window on white paper. Before removing from die, highlight with red chalk and a sponge dauber. Stamp chosen scene on white paper and color as desired. Using a pen, and holding the cut out window where you want it on the scene, mark with a pen where to cut. Trim the scene to fit behind the window how you like and glue the window down.  Adhere scene and window to card base with foam dots. Stamp sentiment and cut with chosen Nestability die, shading with chalk before removing from die. Adhere sentiment with foam dots. To add ribbon, bend & pleat ribbon, adhering each pleat with a glue dot until it reaches the sentiment. Stamp hummingbird, color and cut with matching die. Adhere over sentiment with foam dots. Add bow to top corner.

Time Flies When You're Workin!

Ok...I'm not sure what inspired me to use this ticket sentiment on a Bear Maid...but I did LOL. She looks like she's having fun, doesn't she? Maybe she's a "Molly"...get it? Molly Maid? Ok, ok, lame, I know. This cute little bear was Digital Delights Freebie for their SNR digi day last week. She's no longer free, but you can pick her up at the Digital Delights store. The theme for Digi Day was Clean & Organize and we're supposed to give a tip for that in our post...hmmm...not my forte, LOL. But I have been trying to clean out my scraps lately and I did clean out a file drawer that had lots of OLD manuals for OLD appliances we don't even own anymore. That's got to count for something, right?

But, wait...the best part of this post is yet to come. Did you notice anything? Maybe the new watermark on the pic?'s a custom-made watermark by Louby Lou herself...and WOO HOO it's also a sign that she has asked me to be part of her next Design Team for Digital Delights! I actually had applied previously, but had to decline because I was with Stampin Up! at the time and wasn't allowed to be on other teams. So I am thrilled that I've got another chance to be part of this team. So, look for my Digital Delights creations every Thursday ;)

Corrosive Challenge - Pearls & Lace

The theme at Corrosive Challenge this week is "Pearls and Lace". I decided to pull out this lovely fairy from Paper Makeup Stamps, Madelyn...this is the first time I've inked her up. I'm getting a little low on my Copic-friendly paper, so I decided to emboss the image on watercolor paper and use my SU markers with a water-filled pen. I haven't done this technique for quite some time as I usually head straight for the Copics now.

Flourishes Color of Love Challenge

As I mentioned in my Top 10 Cards of 2010 post... I don't get a chance to use my Flourishes stamps nearly I purposely pulled out a set to participate in the January Color of Love Challenge this week. I also squeezed in the layout from Sweet Sunday Sketch...I seem to be missing a piece/cut on the left...but I didn't notice it in time LOL.

Heartfelt Creations New Release

Ok...first off...let me apologize for the picture. I'm working with a new camera and haven't got it all figured out can't see the scored lines on this card, which makes it look much nicer in person. There are three lines just above the sentiment.

Today there's a FAB-U-LOUS new release at Heartfelt Creations Designs. It's full of beautiful Spring flowers and a hummingbird. I've got this really simple CAS card for you today, but some of our designers have concocted amazingly detailed projects using the matching dies! You are going to want this entire set.

PMS January Release Review Day

After you read this post, please scroll down for a very important
fundraising benefit for Katie Renz!

So how are you liking the January release at PMS? The moodies & fairies are just fabulous once again! Today it is my pleasure to show you a creation with the newest fairy Cosette! And I decided to use the Corrosive Challenge sketch again.  If you haven't had a chance to place your order yet, don't forget about your blog hop code that is good for 15% off the entire new release. There's more review inspiration over on the Paper Makeup Stamps Blog, too, so make sure you check that out. I'd also like to enter this card at Sentimental Sundays for their "Anything with Wings" challenge.

Fundraiser for Katie Emmerson Renz

The lovely Jak Heath has organized a fundraiser for fellow stamper Katie Renz, who was recently diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer. When I signed up to do a sample for Doodle Pantry's contribution to this effort, I didn't know who Katie was, really...then, just a few days later, I found out we were part of the same group on Facebook...the Design DIVAS! So, I've slowly been getting to know her through that. If you want to know more about Katie's journey, please check out her blog.

Jak has gathered together a huge collection of digi images from companies like Doodle Pantry, Mo Manning, Clear Dollar Stamps and so on. You can purchase this fabulous collection on Jak's Blog for just 15 pounds (approx $23 US). For pics of all the stamps you can buy to support Katie's treatment, please check out Jak's Blog. My card is made with Laurie Wilson's design for Doodle Pantry and this set is called Bunny Friends.

After you hop over to Jak's blog to pick up your stamps, don't forget to stop by Katie's blog and give her some encouragement!

This layout came from the JUGS challenge 65. (I was going to title my post "Raise the Bar inspires PMS & JUGS", but I thought that might sound a bit too weird LOL)

OK...enough jibber jabber...your next stop is Lisa off you go! See you tonite for the Release Party at 9EST, 10 AST. My letter for the discount code is

Having said that, here's a friendship card instead LOL. My youngest DD has a couple of birthday parties coming up and I thought this would be a cute card for her to use. And HEY whaddya know...Sentimental Sundays is "celebrating friendship" this week!

There's a lot going on over at Doodle Pantry this month. Of course today is the start of another Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge (#5) and all you have to do is use a Doodle Pantry image to participate for your chance to win a prize. This is the first time my husband has actually taken an interest in the cards I make LOL. This is Maggie Mayhem, one of KennyK's Krash Kittenz...I love this line of stamps...every one of them! The sentiment is from TLC Creations. I haven't a clue what I might do with a card like this, but she was so fun to color :) This week's challenge is to use Purple & Yellow in your creation. Such a nice change after all the red & green isn't it? Come on over and play along!
