This week's Color Dare is Ruby Red, Baja Breeze and Whisper White. Luckily, I had some retired DSP in those colors and this card used my very last sheet of Baja Breeze cardstock :( Come join in the fun at the Color Dare blog.

Corrosive Challenge: Easter

Hmmm....why are Easter cards so hard for me? I have crosses, religious sentiments, and a ton of Starving Artist Stamps bunnies... I found this cute bunny paper in a K&Co holiday stack I had and built the card from there. These bunnies are great because they take very little coloring LOL The Easter Bunny is white, right??? Ok... bring out those bunnies this week...let's see your Easter creations. And don't forget to pop over to the Corrosive Challenge blog to see my first post there as a contributer!

Lower the Bar... ha! April Fools!

Today's Raise the Bar challenge is to "fool us" into thinking something NOT your style IS... did that make sense?? I see a lot of really awesome punch art, but I rarely feel the motivation to try to do it myself. However, I saw these tulips on another blog and had to try them...I even demonstrated them at a workshop! In case you haven't seen them before, the tulips are made from the wing of the bird in the new SU 2 step bird punch...isn't that cool?? So, what's NOT your usual?

Color Dare 61

This week's Color Dare came at the perfect time...I needed to make some thank you cards for my DDs Ballet Teachers, so this great little image from Stamping Bella was just the thing! The challene this week is Pretty In Pink, Green Galore and Basic Black. Pink & Green has always been a favorite color combo of mine...if you're a regular here, you'll have seen a lot of it...and there's more on the way :) I would love to see your take on my favorite! Join in the fun at Color Dare this week.

Sketches! {by Tamara} Journaling Challenge

This week's challenge at Sketches! {by Tamara} was issued by ME! I thought with St. Patty's Day this month it would be good to journal about how we are lucky. I titled mine "Blessings" and cased an idea I saw in the SU demo magazine. The only thing I'm not happy with are those two bling "worms"...they didn't work out like planned LOL

Makeup for the Weekend challenge

I am very happy to repor that I got a chance t do some cards this weekend that were not "assignments", but just for fun! I miss playing in some of my fav challenges...like the PMS Makeup for the Weekend challenge. This week the challenge was to make a one layer card...hmmmm...that's tough...well, so I thought! I did the border punch on my Kraft base and then added the olive strp undeneath for a little definition. The swirlie tree was stamped in Versamark and sponged with my under-used Stampin Pastels. Add butterfly punches and ribbon...and VOILA! I actually quite like this one-layer thing LOL

And hey....this also qualifes for another fav challenge of mine...the Flutterby Wednesday challenge...use green & wings...pretty simple LOL.

Corrosive Challenge: Paper Piecing

This week's challenge at Corrosive Challenge blog is paper piecing. I love to paper piece with my digi images, but am still suffering some computer issues and haven't got my digis back yet :( So, I thought this beautiful angel would be fabulous paper pieced. I pulled out an old piece of Ski Slope dsp from SU and then I shaded the leaves on the dress with a grey marker. I left it without a sentiment so that I could use it for whatever I need an angel for later...sympathy, thinking of you...it could be many things. Come join us in the paper piecing challenge this week! Next week it's my turn to post over there...yikes LOL

Raise the Bar: Fruits of your labor

This week's challenge at Raise the Bar is to use a fruit image... In the true spirit of the challenge, I decided to pull out this old, retired  SU Stained Glass image...I have never inked it before!

I saw this inspiration piece on Sankari's blog today and thought I'd join in with the challenge too...the colors just fit this image...a happy accident! So this is my first time playing at Christmas Stamping All Year challenge... I see now that it's actually a red color, not brown...but oh well!

I'm Late, I'm Late, for a very important DT assignment!

OH MY! What a week. I still haven't got my own computer back and have to share with DH. His keyboard is funky...skipping letters because it seems I type too fast or something. I may lose all my files...pictures, digi stamps, and so on...sigh...and both kids are sick...DD2 developed pinkeye today and is NOT impressed with eye drops.

Anyhow... I did manage to get some work done today and first on my list is this card for Corrosive Challenge and Raise the Bar. I had to combine them into one card because I just didn't have any creativity left to come up with a second idea LOL. That green thing in the middle is supposed to look like a four-leaf clover, but I think it looks more like a flower :( Maybe you'll have more luck playing with your stash this week...I sure hope so.

Due to some computer virus, I am unable to get my post up today...please click over to the Sketches blog to see today's recipe challenge. I did manage to get my card to Tamara before my computer blew up :) I'm working on my hubby's computer, but don't have my files & programs...sigh...and I hate his keyboard!

Corrosive Sketch Day

I have a little bit of exciting news! Janet has asked me to stay on at Corrosive Challenges! YAY ME! And, I'll even be getting a turn at doing the postings once a month...oooooo I think I'm nervous LOL

This week's challenge was a sketch...and it took me a while to figure out how to do it. It wasn't until I saw this little Matroyshka doll that I knew what to do...she was the perfect size to fit in the smallest nesties. This printed paper is from the SAB stack that you can still get for free with a $65 Cdn order...it's got some really sweet papers in it!

I'd love to see what you put in that tiny little oval in this week's sketch...show me some inspiration people!

Raise the Book...I mean the Bar

So....did you know that March is Women's History Month? Well, I admit, I didn't until Joni set the theme for this week's Raise the Bar Challenge--to use a book image to celebrate WHM. And then she had to tell me that I had a book image to use because I couldn't for the life of me remember that I had this one! LOL

On another note about this card...I finally broke down and bought some alcohol ink markers...Touch brand... 8 in fact... 8 shades of GREY! OMWord...does one really need 8 shades of GREY??? Well, yes, apparantly I do. I used four shades of Cool Grey to color Ricky here...and I think for my first try, SHE turned out pretty good. Now I really need to read up on some tutorials about the shading because mine isn't very pronounced.

Last note...I found the sketch for this card on the Card Patterns blog and this week is their anniversary blog hop week, so there's some fun happening over there.

Color Dare 58

Ok...my computer is still acting wonky...I KNOW I cropped this picture closer and brightened the colors...sigh... oh well...if you only knew what I'd been through tonite with this FFFFFREEAKIN computer...you'd understand why I'm not going to go edit it again.

Anyhow...this week's Color Dare challenge is Regal Rose, Certainly Celery and Tempting Turquoise. I have no idea where this image is from because I received it in a package of Blog Candy I won recently :) But I thought she looked like she could handle this color combo! Come join in the fun at Color Dare this week...and don't forget...Riley will be looking for some new team members soon!

Sketches! {by Tamara}

This week at Sketches! {by Tamara} is a scrapbook sketch challenge. I'm sorry I don't have the sketch to show you, but I'm having major computer issues (caught myself some kind of hijacker virus and it's impossible to get rid of).  Anyhow...I rotated the sketch sideways to accommodate this photo that I wanted to use. Granted, using it the right way would make a title soooo much easier LOL If you can't make it out, the journalling around the pic is about the meaning of the color purple.
