A card without a challenge--it's an epidemic!

I know, I know, I know! Three cards just because I wanted to play...and not linked to challenges...oh my...I must be losing it. Well, really, it's just that I'm still on vacation and I needed some things to autopost. So don't worry, it's really not an epidemic...this card was done for a sketch challenge somewhere along the way, but I didn't like my green bird, so I didn't use this card :) You never know when you're going to need a filler LMBO.

Corrosive Challenge - Make it Masculine

Janet has challenged us to make masculine cards this week at Corrosive Challenge. I'd been saving this piece of ancient Paper Pizzazz dp for EVER...ok...well, not really...I actually rescued it from the recycling bin of a friend and THEN saved it just for a masculine card. Now...why I didnt' just put Happy Birthday on these two cards, I still haven't figured out...for some strange reason, I thought they needed to be Father's Day cards...so I'm well ahead on that one for next year :)

Raise the Bar at the "HUT"

Oohhh....that Joni... she thinks she's so cute and all... this week's Raise the Bar challenge is to use a "hut" (house or building) in your creation. AND it will be judged by The Hovey Hut herself...get it??? LOL Sigh.... we love her anyhow! I had to do a lot of searching to find something to use for this challenge. I had almost given up when I pulled out an uncut sheet of rubber from Starving Artist Stamps...yup...uncut...so guess what? I CUT IT! And funny enough, it is a "hut".

Now this card...I couldn't decide what sentiment to put on it, so I just left it to be decided when I use it. Originally I thought it would be a "wish you were here" card, but then I started looking at it and poor Moki, she looks like she might be laughing at the situation...so it could be an "I'm sorry" card. Or...don't you think she looks kind of panicky? Maybe it's a "I heard about your bad luck" card. What other sentiments can you think of to go with this one?

Oh...and the other thing I wanted to mention about this card is the clouds...see those clouds? I used the SAS Build a Cloud stamp to do that. It is sooooo coool...you have to have one!

Another Christmas Card possibility

I'm still favoring my Peas on Earth card...but this one is cute too. This image is from Cuddly Buddly and I love it because it requires so little coloring! Easy to reproduce:) I added a bit of dimension by popping up their little heads :) Aren't they cute? Did I mention that Cuddly Buddly has a TON of free digi images and this is one of them :) Enjoy.

ColorQ--Late as usual

Some days I just don't know why I bother...sigh...I made this card for ColorQ 44 : Poppy Parade, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Black and White. I'm not really a big fan of Poppy Parade, but the inspiration photo Arielle posted made me NEED to try this combo, and I just happened to have a card base in Poppy sitting out...so I went for it. I quite like the final result...I think it's a very summery color combo. HOWEVER, I cannot seem to remember that Arielle closes her linky tool on Sunday afternoon...so I missed out on getting it loaded up AGAIN...so I saved it for today :)

Don't forget...I've got another Blog Candy up for grabs...if you haven't already signed up...please check out my top post!

A TRIPLE Assignment Card

Right now, with any luck, as you're reading this, I'm sitting on a beach watching my daughters run in the sand and tire their little butts out so they'll sleep well tonite LMBO. We're on vacation at the family cottage, which just happens to be right across the road from a humongous tidal beach. Unfortunately it's always too cold to swim in the ocean, but we still enjoy the beach. So...in preparation for the vacation, I had to double up...well, in this case triple up, on some of my assignments. I just didn't have time to make a separate card for everthing AND get them all posted. .
So my lovely Francesca, from Paper Makeup Stamps, features Joni's Raise the Bar sketch for this week. Today's challenge at Makeup 4 the Weekend is "Christi Turns 40"--use four of the same embellishment (pearls in my case), and a circle as your focal image...lucky for me the sketch worked!

Now, this card is also going to be my Corrosive Challenge card on Sunday...so I can't tell you what the challenge is because I don't want to give anyone an unfair advantage LOL...you'll have to check out the Corrosive Challenge blog on Sunday to see how this card fits there too.

A card without a challenge--how sad

You can't see it on screen, but the flowers are cut out twice and popped up for dimension...and you did read correctly...no challenges for this one...I was just playing with the stamp and my Copics and this is what I ended up with.

Moody for Coffee

This Moody for Coffee card was done for the Friday Sketchers challenge this week.

Well, tomorrow we leave for vacation...and we don't know when we're coming back! Seriously, we have two weeks off and we'll come back when we get...uh...bored...yeah...it has NOTHING to do with living with the in-laws for that two weeks. It also has NOTHING to do with the fact that it's a small cottage, on a REMOTE island, with no coffee shops, no malls, NO TV or even a radio...certainly no internet. Yeah...we enjoy it. Anywho... I've got lots of goodies planned on autopost while I'm away...and don't forget to sign up for my new blog candy :)

I'm in the Christmas Mood still!

By George! I think I might actually have my Christmas cards all made by December! Following along at Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge has really helped me think about Christmas cards all year...and I think I like it :) This week's challenge was to use a border punch. I was going to add red bling along the scallop punch here, but I thought it would actually be too much for this simple card. And, by keeping it flat, it's another "easy mailer".

Corrosive Challenge - Faux things

So this challenge was an interesting one for the Corrosive DT... we all complained to Janet that Faux Leather was too much to handle this week...I for one, didn't even own any masking tape! And if you go over to the challenge blog and take a look, you'll see that most of us managed to do the technique anyhow LOL even me... I bought tape just so I could try the technique. But if you want to see a super snazzy example, you need to go check out our guest designer for this month...her faux leather purse is GOJUS! Don't forget, if you play along at Corrosive in the month of August you could win some fabulous Paper Makeup Stamps goodies!

Raise the Bar with your ABC's

This week Joni has challenged us to an ABC Challenge at Raise the Bar...and in the true spirit of the challenge, those brads are at least a couple of years old...from when my DD was all about horses (now we're into dogs & cats).

A - Animal
B - Brown

This image is a freebie from TLC Creations...if you like digi stamps, then you'll love her site. I'm not sure if you can see them, but there are some lovely swirly bird designs along the horse's belly.

Oops...the ribbon is in the way...it says "NOT a morning person". I love the Stampotique goth girls...but I'm not sure they love me LOL. I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch 80 for this card. Hmm... just not sure about it...or her...or something...

I think I have found my Christmas Card for this year!

Yup... I think this is it... I just love this image... It's even HUBBY approved...he actually got a giggle out of it. This image is available at Whimsie Doodles (a Nova Scotia stamp company for the locals who are reading this). It also just happened to work perfectly for this week's CPS Card Sketch...and I'm sooo glad I tried it out! I'm also entering it at the Whimsie Doodles blog for their "punny card" challenge...pretty sure this fits LOL.

PMS Review Day - Word Art

Today I get to show you a fabulous piece of word art, arranged by the fabulous Shaela Odd. I added some background color using Dandy Wishes stamps from last month's release and based my color scheme on the awesome Earth Love paper from Cosmo Cricket...gotta get me some more of that! Wanna see some more PMS goodies??? Head on over to the BLOG to see what others have for ya!

Frog Prince

I used this week's JUGS sketch (although I did have to square it to fit my image) to practice coloring with my new green Copics...if you've friended me on Facebook you may have seen me lamenting that I didn't have any Glorious Green cardstock last night??? Well, this is why...I really could have used some for this card. This image is available at Tiddly Inks by Christy Croll.

Corrosive Challenge Gettin' Sketchy with Paper Makeup Stamps!

That's right! Paper Makeup Stamps, home of the ever-adorable "Beautiful Day" Fairies is sponsoring the Corrosive Challenge this month. Being on the PMS Design Team, I had lots of stamps to choose from for this week's sketch, but Katie was very generous in allowing other Corrosive Challenge DT members to choose a digi stamp to work with at some point this month...AND she's giving a $20 gift certificate to the Challenge winner this month! SCORE! Maybe you'll choose to pick up some of the new PMS stamps that were just released last night!

Here's my take on this week's sketch. I had a card front scrap of Razzleberry Lemonade sitting around to use up and decided to pair it with a bit of Pixie Pink and Rich Razzleberry... It's a very girly color combo and I like it! I chose an older word art that I thought would make a good encouragement card...so many of my on-line friends seem to need some encouragement lately...I hope they all slay their dragons soon!

Please hop on over to the Corrosive Challenge Blog to see what my fellow designers have come up with, and you should check out the PMS DT blogs this week as well as some of the girls there were going to play along with the sketch challenge this week.

PMS Release Day Hop

Welcome to the August Release Hop for Paper Makeup Stamps! We're getting ready for another big party tonite. If you've found your way over from Sherry's blog then you're on the right track. If you've just popped in her 'cuz you love me and can't miss a single thing I do...then you really need to start from the beginning at the Paper Makeup Stamps Blog

This cute little guy is Carter...I love the fairy & the dino combined! And Carter's jammies are just too cute! I pulled out some hoarded rubons to go with this card...a bunch of cute dinos & kid friendly sentiments. This would be so cute to invite someone over for a playdate.

Now you need two things to continue on your way. First, my letter for your 15% discount code on anything in the August release is

And second, you need to know that your next blop (ha ha...that's my made up term for blog stop) is the phenomenal Christi. Now, should Blogger be actin' up again today and a link is broken, the full hop schedule (the DT list) is on the Paper Makeup Stamps Blog for your convenience.

Are you ready for tonight's release party festivities? I hope you will come join the fun in the PMS Forum at 8 pm EST (9 pm Atlantic)...there's always lots of gabbing and gaming...and usually lots of talk about food :)

Raise the Bar--Pearly Whites

Today's challenge at Raise the Bar is to use pearls on your card. I have just a handful of pearls left from my very first SU Pretties kit from 3 years ago...'bout time I used them up, I'd say! Now, if I could use up all the clear beads in the kit...then I'd be cooking with gas LOL So...come on over and show us your pearly whites this week at Raise the Bar!

This image is a very old digi (from when digis were just first coming onto the scene) from The Greeting Farm. I was practicing a technique for highlighting around the image in colors, and it's a bit splotchy, but I like the pink...it's different.

Moody Sneak Peek

I'm soooo excited to be sneaking the new Moody for Cats from PaperMakeup Stamps today...I love cats almost as much as I love Moody girls LOL. I used the Card Patterns sketch #75, and added a little "faux stitching" on the yellow strip for the Paper Sundaes challenge. I colored the image with a combination of Copics, Touch markers and SU markers.

Thanks for stopping in today to see my sneak peek. I hope you head on over to the PMS Blog to see what other goodies await you at this week's release. Don't forget to set your alarms for the 7th at 9pm CST to join us in the PMS forum for the release party!

SCS Featured Stamper

I had fun playing at the Featured Stamper Challenge at SCS again this week...did TWO cards for this one...she had awesome ideas.

Changed color combo, didn't use ribbon on the shell...altho that was a really cool idea :)

Changed colors & second image to Lauren mini
(she's meant for the back of your card signatures...but she works for this too :) )

I'm also entering this card at Paper Sundaes for their stitching challenge this week.

These stamps are, of course, Paper Makeup Stamps, Ashlie's Snail solo and Lauren mini.
Thanks for stopping in today.

The Greeting Farm Blog Hop

Poor Anya...she's been neglected at my house for way too long. Anya was the first stamp outside of SU that I owned and became addicted to. So when I saw that The Greeting Farm was having a 2nd Birthday Blog Hop it seemed like good motivation for me to bring her out again. I picked up Girl Scout Anya a looooong time ago with the intentions of making cards for my mother, who is a long-standing Girl Guide leader (I think she's working on 30 years, maybe???) Here's my first Girl Scout Anya creation, just for my mom.

Thanks for stopping by my blog on the hop tonite!

Raise the Bar "sticks" it to Corrosive

Yup! It's a baby theme for me this week...ok...someone else has got to have a baby or these cards are going to sit here for a looooong time LOL. Janet's challenge at Corrosive Challenge this week is a baby theme, and Joni has challenged us to use up some of those stickers we all have sitting around at Raise the Bar. These Jolee's stickers I bought for one of my DDs scrapbooks...umm....my DDs are 5 & 7...guess they're past the diaper shirt stage now LOL. If you want to see another baby card, check out my post from yesterday for Lisa's Baby Shower blog hop with PMS.

I highly encourage you to join in both challenges this week...for one...I am judging the "winners" at Raise the Bar...so I'm going to be visiting all the blogs and I would love to see yours up there! Secondly, this month at Corrosive Challenge Paper Makeup Stamps is our prize sponsor...so every time you enter the challenge there, you get a chance to win a great PMS prize!
