Thanks a Latte Color Dare

Wanna join in on the fun at this week's Color Dare challenge? Just make a card with this week's colors: Creamy Caramel, Barely Banana and Bermuda Bay (or the closest you have to those shades). Getting Ready for Christmas

Thanks to 2 Red Bananas I got a head start on Christmas wrapping this week. Their challenge was to make some kind of packaging for a gift...so I used this opportunity to make THREE of these decorated bags and matching tags for DD's teacher gifts this Christmas. WOW I feel like I really accomplished something by doing these this far ahead! I don't think I've ever done Christmas this far in advance before and I LIKE it :)
The printed papers are from the DCWV Christmas Stack from last year. I used Big On Christmas to make the tag, colored with SU Markers and I added little rhinestone stars to the tree, but they don't show up in the picture.

Mojo Monday on MONDAY!

What a treat! I actually completed two Monday challenges ON Monday...and I'm even getting them posted ON Monday! I love being back to school :) This card uses the MOJO Monday sketch from today and the color challenge posted at Paper Makeup Stamps: Ruby, Olive and Chocolate.

New Colors...Old Mojo

Does your MOJO get old? Well...mine occasionally goes on "hiatus"...but Julee Tilman's never gets old. Julee is the founder of Mojo Monday and Verve Stamps and she has the most awesomest sketches! I keep her sketch book print outs on my bulletin board and whenever I just don't know what to do, I start by looking at her sketches. It never fails to get my MOJO flowing again. Here's a cute, non-traditional Christmas card I did using an old MOJO sketch and the new Soft Suede and Bermuda Bay In-Colors. I am still just LOVING this color combo.

Stampin Up! Day

Today I attended a "mini-convention" of Stampin Up! demonstrators, organized by my Up-up-up-line LOL...there were about 40 people there and WOW some of the stuff I saw was AMAZING! Just thought I would share a few pics of some of the swaps I received.

First up is my WOW Swap exchange...remember the Coffee Mugs? This is the cute little water pitcher I got in return :) This was made by Kirsti Tibbo and the flowers have York peppermint patties on the back :)

Here are a few "traditional" colored Christmas Cards...

And a few less traditional colors...but man o man... I love Rich Razzleberry for Christmas Cards. Now that's just 7 cards out of 25 that I received today...I can't show you EVERYTHING!

I also wanted to show you this card...it's a bit out of season, but Eleanor showed this card at our table and would you believe she didn't think it "good enough" to put out for display??? I thought he was just Stinkin' Cute!

Digiments Release Week

Ever wanted to send a card to someone "just because" but didn't really know what to use for a sentiment? Well, Michelle has done it again...her new Digiments line of "Favorites" is just what you need...pick your favorite girl, print the sentiment right on the card base, add an image and you're good to go! To go with the Favorite Grandma sentiment I pulled out one of my all-time favorite stamp sets "Terrific Tulips"...I don't use this set nearly enough.

Ok...pop  on over to the Digiments blog to check out the work from the other ladies...and while you're there, don't forget to pick up the new FREEBIE Michelle is handing out for you to play with, in support of "TravellingMama".

All the new Digiments will be available on Saturday Sept 26th. There are 30 in total and you can get the whole set for just $15! PLUS Michelle is donating half of the proceeds to TravellingMama this month.

Digiments New Release

It preview time for Digiments September Release. One of the sets Michelle has designed this time is full of "get well" sentiments. I never seem to have just the right one on hand, so this is great because now I have a bunch and I can make them ANY size I need! AWESOME POSSUM! I love printing the Digiments right onto the base of the card (or in this case the main layer). They make fabulous CAS cards this way.

Now, head on over to the Digiments blog to see what the other designers have cooked up for you. Don't forget about Michelle's charity this month "TravellingMama". Go grab the FREEBIE digiment this week and show us what you come up with!

The new Digiments will be available on Saturday Sept 26. There are 30 in total and you can get them all for just $15! PLUS this month Michelle is donating half of the proceeds to TravellingMama.

Challenge Your Inktegrity

This is my second post for this morning...if you'd like to see my PMS Challenge Card please scroll down to the next post.

Joni has issued a "Recipe" challenge on the Inktegrity Blog this week. The winner will receive the entire Fall "Shape Up" set! Your challenge is to create a card using 1 printed paper, sparkles and dots and an Inktegrity image. This is the card I prepared for the challenge using the Shape Up "Frankie" and a new FREEBIE "Candy Corn". That's right...Joni wanted everyone to be able to play along for a chance to win, so... if you don't have an Inktegrity image already...you can download Candy Corn for free and use it! Entries will be accepted until September 30 and the winner will be announced on October 1 (my birthday, AHEM).

For more info about the challenge, and to get your FREE Candy Corn image, or to see more inspiration for the Recipe Challenge, hop on over to the Inktegrity blog...Joni is waiting for you :)

PMS Challenge

This week's challenge at Paper Makeup Stamps is to use punches and die cuts...WHO, I ask, doesn't have a kazillion of those in their stash? LOL I started out by using my nesties for the main image and a MS Doily Lace border punch...but then I thought...HEY! Those buttons they want us to try on the Technique Lover's Challenge this week would fit too! So I added some FAUX buttons...OMGosh...I am in LOVE with that technique...the hardest part about it is waiting for the darn Crystal Effects to dry! (I found it best to leave them overnight)

Faith in Digiments

It's time to preview some new releases from Digiments...and I have to say...these are two of my FAVORITE cards EVAH! I stumbled upon this color combo by complete accident when working on these cards, and I LOOOVE it. I am now a fan of the new SU In-Color Soft Suede (I didn't care for it before at all). I printed the new Faith Digiments directly onto some retired Porcelain Prints dsp...the color used is actually River Rock, which seems to be a much lighter version of Soft Suede. I then die cut the sentiments with my new Nestabilities labels and inked the edges with Soft Suede so they would stand out against the card base. The complementary color on these cards is the new Bermuda Bay. And, oh yes, this is the card that got me to thinkin' about quilling again. I didn't have just the right flower for this card, but the little strips were calling to me, so I made my own flower! Soooo simple.
Now, head on over to the Digiments Blog and check out what the other designers have come up with for you to see. While you're there, pick up the FREEBIE digiments and show us what you can do!

All the new Digiments will be available on Saturday Sept 26 and you won't believe the price...just $15 for all 30 new Digiments! PLUS Michelle is donating half of all proceeds this month to TravellingMama.

Color Dare Goes Non-Traditional!

This week's color dare really took me for a loop: Lavender Lace, Green Galore and Very Vanilla. At first I was thinking Halloween...but that really needs orange in it too... so then I pulled out my new Delightful Decorations set from the SU Holiday Mini catalogue and started playing... I ended up really liking this card for Christmas and non-traditional colors are getting more and more popular this season. This is an all SU card except for the scallop border punch which is an old Martha Stewart one, but you could easily use the SU scallop border punch in its place. The sentiment is from Many Merry Messages.

Get Well Anya

Get well cards are hard for me...I never seem to have just the right image, or sentiment or ...something... I came across this one lonely little Nurse Anya in my stash the other night and decided to use her for the Anyone for Anya? challenge this week which is to use flowers. So I found some flowery dp and some coordinating silk flowers and VOILA...add a little black to tame the brights and you're good to go. Now, the next time I need a get well card, I'm one step ahead!

Using up scraps

I know, I know! I'm always harping on about using up scraps...but I have huge piles of scraps... and no good way to organize them, so they always look messy...I just want them used up and gone! So the other night, I decided I should really start thinking about Christmas cards and came up with this quick & simple one...both pieces of patterned paper were in the scrap bin...as was the mat for the image.

Ohhhh...and I tried using my new Gold Lame Smooch on the star & ornaments on the tree...you probably can't really make it out, but I LOVE it on the star...very nice and shiny. It was surprisingly easy to control...I was expecting the brush to be more like a nail polish brush, but it's much sturdier.

Anyhow... heads up PMS ladies who are reading this...this MAY be seen at an upcoming workshop or perhaps my Stamp A Stack of Christmas Cards on November 11.

Digiments for a better world!

It never ceases to amaze me...the generosity of the crafting industry, that is. So many companies are supporting charities that are near and dear to them and Michelle at Digiments is no exception! This month Michelle is donating HALF of the proceeds from the September Digiments release to the work of TravellingMama...one family trying to make a difference in the world. To help spread the word, I decided to make a couple of cards with one of the FREE Digiments Michelle made specifically for this cause. As soon as I saw the quotes I thought of a cornucopia and went on a search. This particular cornucopia image was a freebie coloring page I googled up. I sized it, recolored it to match my SU papers, faded the tint a bit so it wouldn't overwhelm the Digiment, and then added the Digiment right on top. I printed it all in one piece and all I had to do then was mat it and put together the cards. These would be great cards for your local food bank to use as thank you cards, don't you think?

And did you notice the little embellishment on the second card? I'm having so much fun quilling with my SU paper scraps. For YEARS I've chucked those little 1/8 inch strips into the garbage...ohhhhhh the WASTE! I could have been making color coordinated quilling all that time! I feel faint. LOL Quilling is something I did years ago...I have a bunch of lacy little snowflakes for my Christmas tree and so on. The other day, while I was making another card for the upcoming Digiments release, I looked at some of those strips and it was like a bolt of lightening... Ohhhh...I could quill those! I think I've got a new obsession :) And a bigger pile of scraps now.

Ok...so enough about that... This is one of two FREEBIE Digiments available on the blog this week. Pop on over and grab them to play along with us. We'd love to see what you create with them. And come back over the next few days to see what else Michelle and the DT have been working on for the NEW RELEASE available on September 26! There will be 30 new Digiments available and the price is unbeatable!!! Just $15 for the entire set!

Playing with my Cricut

I have to admit...my Cricut is a lonely bug...poor thing...it just doesn't get as much use as it should. But, the other day I picked up Wild Card...I've been wanting it for a while and I'm already glad I got it. I'll be able to make coordinating envies sooo easy now...well, in theory LOL. Anyhow, the day I got the cartridge was my sister's housewarming party and I needed a quick card, so I used my new cartridge to make this cute house card. Now all I need is a brick background stamp...wouldn't that be cool? Next time I might try to draw siding on it. But it's cute this way. The brown door is actually the envelope!

Fall to Layout

Have you checked out Clean and Simple Stamping and the Fall-to-Layout? I recently discovered this blog and it's full of fabulous CAS inspiration. This is the first chance I've had to play along, and I SWEAR this card took less than 10 minutes, but I like it! It would be a great card to "mass produce" for Christmas. This won't be the last time I play along with Clean and Simply Stamping :)

Coffee Mugs for a WOW swap

I have an upcoming Stampin Up! meeting/training/stamping day and one of the things we do is swap...we swap cards, ideas and WOW gifts. I've made a couple of things, but wasn't happy. Then I made one of these coffee mugs. One of the things the organizer says is that the WOW swap should be something you don't want to give up when it's done! Well...I found it...I love these little travel mugs. I found them at the local Dollarama a while back and I hope I can get more...wouldn't these be great teacher's gifts for Christmas? With a little coffee card in them? And maybe even with extra inserts so they can change them out for the different holidays? Ooooh...that's a great idea (as JanTink would say YILM Tee Hee). Ummmm...yes, by the way, it appears I am feeling better LOL

Anyone for Anya?

There's a new challenge on the block called "Anyone for Anya" and they're issuing challenges on a weekly basis...the only requirement is that you use an Ian or Anya stamp in your creation. This week's challenge was pink, white and one other color...which in my case is black. I used the sketch for this week's 2 Sketches for You challenge. One funny little tidbit about this card...would you believe the pink, black & white papers are from last year's DCWV Christmas Stack? LOL

Color Double Dare

This week's Color Dare was soooo nice I had to use it twice! Well...really I just couldn't decide which way to go, so I ended up finishing two cards. The layout was based on THIS CARD. The colors are: Certainly Celery, Blush Blossom and Chocolate Chip. Wanna play along? We would love to see what you've created...just link your creation on the Color Dare Blog so we can find you. And don't forget to check out the NEW Color Dare design team divas to see what they're bringing to the table for inspiration.

My Spidey Senses are Tingling

My super spidey senses tell me there's a new release happening today at Inktegrity :) Joni's got some great new fall and Halloween images for ya! She's made them all from really basic shapes, so they're great to blow up for kids to cut out and create with on their own. For those adults who are a bit more advanced (tee hee)... you can make them any size you want, recolor them, tile them, overlap them... the web's the limit! Oh...and for those who don't have toddler - grade school aged kids... "Spider-riffic" is a term from the TV show Ms. Spider :)

Stamp Simply Challenge

Well, I'm not sure this really falls under the "Stamp Simply" category, but since I already had the PMS monster cut out, and one of the trees, and I had the Haunted House image printed...well, it didn't take very long to put this together, so in that way I think it does qualify for Sharon's Stampy Simply Challenge this week...the theme was Halloween. It's a small stepper card and is only 4 inches wide. I think it would make a cute little place card for a Halloween party. The Haunted House is a FREE digi image available from Digital Delights this week only.

New Look & more blog candy

So...what do you think of the new look? It was time for a change and so many of my blogging friends change their looks frequently, I figured it couldn't be toooo hard... I lost a few linky things, but overall, it was quite easy! This is a free template from Template Mama and she has some very cool templates available...all for free...just look for the badge on the bottom right to check her out.
Also, Sonia is having a fabulous blog candy...if you don't follow her blog, you really should check her out! And while you're there, sign up for the candy, before September 30.

The Pink Elephant's Christmas

This week's challenge at The Pink Elephant was a color combo: Red, Yellow, Black and White AND the Ways to Use it Challenge on SCS today was to use RED...sooo...I went on a little card-making spree tonite. I'm trying to come up with a swap card for an upcoming SU gathering and we are to use sets from the new Holiday Mini catalogue. At first, I didn't think Red & Yellow was going to be very Christmas-y, but ya know...I kind of like it! It has a retro elegant feel to it, I think. So here are the four cards that came out of these two challenges tonite... all products are SU! That red & white printed paper is the new flocked velvet paper from the mini-catalogue...it's delicious in person.

PMS Challenges

Paper Makeup Stamps has released another great bunch of stamps this month...and yours truly actually won a set at the release party :) There are two challenges to celebrate the new release and these are my two creations.

This one is for the "makeup" challenge. We were to follow the sketch, use pink, buttons, something shiny (bling) and at least three layers.
This one is for the CASE challenge. I chose this card by Randee E to case. This sentiment is from Starving Artistamps, tho, not PMS.

Color Dare +++

This week's Color Dare Challenge is: Rich Razzleberry, Pale Plum, Old Olive and Very Vanilla. I was thrilled to find this MME paper that matched up pretty well.
Since I'm STILLLLLLL hacking up a lung, I decided to combine a few challenges in one card and get off my feet LOL The sketch I used is for the Flourishes September challenge. As well, the Stamp Simply challenge for this week is to "over stamp" your sentiment on your image...sounded simple, but this sentiment isn't quite bold enough, I guess.

SAS challenge

I don't know if anyone remembers, but about a month or so ago, I won the blog candy at Starving Artist Stamps (SAS) and received 2 full sheets of RUBBAH! When I win something like that I kinda feel obligated to participate in their challenges...not in a bad way, but just like "you know, they gave me a FABULOUS prize and I should really play along!" kind of thing? Sooooo, since they are sponsoring the sketch challenge this month at Rubber Stamp Chat (I didn't even know this forum existed), I decided to break out some of that lovely rubber "candy" and play along... this is the second card I managed to eek out while being sick this week. But once I got the idea in my head, I just had to make it right away!
Ok...so I was trying to make it look like the Wild Woman was head over heals for the Cave Man and cliped him with her slingshot then dragged him back to her cave...was that clear? I added the heart punches to try to show that she was in love, not that she was trying to kill him LOL
The SAS stamps are sooo much fun and their sentiments are hilarious. They've got some great blog candy going on at the Company Blog right now, as well as the sketch challenge. Check them out!

PMS & Papertake Challenge

This week PMS issued an inspiration challenge and the inspiration was Carrie's Cakes. I am still soooo sick, but I didn't want to miss out on the challenge...it has taken me 4 days to get 2 cards done...this one and one for another challenge! Anyhow...here's the cake I found inspiring and I used Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry, plus some flowery Razzleberry Lemonade dp.

The challenge at Papertake Weekly this week was to use fairies or angels...pretty simple for me LOL. So I decided to link up there too, for the first time ever.

Ok...back to feeling misearable..

CASEing Dawn

One of my first stamping idols over at SCS was Dawn Mercedes...I have favorited many of her cards, follow her BLOG and thanks to her discovered Starving Artist Stamps. I've gotten to e-know her through SCS and PMS stamps and have even been lucky enough to receive some of her creations. The other day she posted a great CAS card using a little metal-rimmed tag and I decided to CASE it when I found a stray tag in a pile of stuff. So I made this cute little card:

Then I thought...hmmm...I have some small images from SU's Flower for All Seasons...I bet that layout would be perfect for those...so I made this one:
Then I got too sick to do anything but lay around...so I've now read Twilight! LOL I don't LOVE it, but it's a good read and I do want to read the rest of the series.

On the Right Track with Inktegrity

Today is the last day of previews for the new Inktegrity release. To round out the new "transportation" line, we have a train. This train is soooo versatile! Originally it just has two little cars toting behind, but you can easily add as many cars as you need. The first card I did fits into a #10 envelope. I like making these cards even though I find them harder to store :) Wouldn't this look cute with a bunch of little toys sticking out of the cars??? Oohhh...wish I'd thought of that a few days ago LOL.
When Joni gave us these awesome backgrounds she created for this line, I just knew I would have to create another stepper card. They are quite addictive! And again with the paper piecing...but these images are just sooo easy to paper piece with!
Ok...so you've seen all the images for the new release... now head on over to Inktegrity Blog to see what the other designers have done with the train image today. AND then set your alarm for tomorrow to remind you to go shopping and pick up all your favs!

I'm sick...but I found some great blog candy!

So yesterday morning I started coughing suddenly and ...well...I was sick. The coughing hasn't really stopped yet and I feel like crap. I've never had a chest cough just appear like that...soooooo...no crafting for me today. However, I have done a bit of blurfing and Starving Artist Stamps is giving away 2 sets of their latest release Costume Party on their blog. Isn't it cute???
I was the lucky winner of their candy last month, so yes, you can win!

Sail Away with Inktegrity

More paper piecing fun with the new releases from Inktegrity! Again, a great way to use up scraps! And look at the awesome sentiment...Tee Hee... also available from Inktegrity.

So, sail on over to the Inktegrity Blog to see what the other DT members have been up to. Don't forget, Joni has two chances at her Sticky Blog candy...look for the badge on her site and the Inktegrity blog to enter!

Color Dare Double Take

ETA: OOPS...posted a day early LOL

This week's Color Dare is a FABBY combo...so bright and summery. I immediately thought of magical mermaids. The Colors are Bermuda Bay, Cameo Coral and So Saffron.
Why don't you play along with us? Just link up your creation from your blog or SCS gallery so we can all see it! And if you don't have SU colors, or not these exact ones...just use what you have that's close...we still want to see.

No Sub-Stitute for Inktegrity

It's day 2 of previews from the upcoming release at Inktegrity and Joni has really outdone herself with this release. I pulled out an OLD technique for this card to give it the feel of really being in the water... How DID I get the water in that card, you ask? It's called a "Gel Card" and you can find a tutorial on SCS HERE. Be forewarned, tho...these cards are heavy to mail :) And do you see that cute little sentiment? Joni has created some great punny sentiments to go along with all these new images...if you're like me, you can never have too many sentiments!
Ok...for more "sub-lime" creations, go check out the Inktegrity Blog to see what the other DT members have created. And when you're done, head on over to the Inktegrity Shop to pick up the new images!

The Personal Challenge Continued...

Here's another try at Tilda with Lilacs...I realized that I have this other Magnolia background, but only one seated Tilda ... so I had to use the same one LOL. It seemed wrong to use another image...but I think I will try some Gorguss Girls and Sugar Nellie with the other background images.
