"Busy" Teacher Anya

So last night I finally got out my new Anya rubber and played...I didn't know what I was going to do but I felt like paper piecing her outfit. I pulled out Teacher Anya, mostly because she was the first one I laid my hands on... and here's what I've come up with. It's a HUGE card...again with the using up some large envies I have in stock taking up space...so the card is about 6x8! I had a Tim Coffey K&Co school themed paper pad and thought it might work with the teacher theme...so off I went.

Her shirt & skirt are pieced with the new Delicate Dots paper available TOMORROW with your Sale A Bration benefits. I used a white gel pen to give her a white collar under the yellow "vest". The apples across the card are from a package I received on the PIF threads...seemed to fit the theme, again. The red bauble gems are from Stamping Bella (these ones are big enough to adhere with glue dots, making it much easier). She's looking a bit pale...think I might need to send her on a cruise or somethin'... I'd like to get some flesh colored copics...anyone know what colors I need for fair-skinned people??

Anyhow, I'm calling her Busy Teacher Anya because growing up with a parent who was a teacher, I know how busy they can be, but also because the card is BUUUUSSSSSY! LOL I don't know if I'll actually use it, but it's kinda cute (in a busy sort of way).

Big day tomorrow with the launch of Club Anya and the beginning of SAB! Not to mention the Superbowl...seems to me I heard that is tomorrow (we're not sports fans here, least of all football).

Oh.No.

First of all...yikes...another really cute stamp company....I love these little girlies...they remind me of my DDs just like Anya. They are super sweet and Pollycraft is releasing new stamps tomorrow. Where am I going to get the money to keep up with all these cute stamps??? Ahhhhhh....maybe, perchance, I could win one of the kazillion blog candies I keep telling you about? Luckily Pollycraft is giving away these new releases HERE...if you win...do I get half?

Color Combo Challenge at SCS

It has been a looooong time since I participated in any design challenges. This morning I decided to check in to see what the color combo challenge was at SCS. It was Pacific Point, Baja Blue and Garden Green...how fun. It's a nice bright combination and it just spoke flowers to me. These flowers are from the new Sale A Bration set Botanical Blooms, available in Feb & March only with a $60 purchase. The congratulations stamp is part of another Sale A Bration set called Congrats. Now, if I could just put it together straight next time! LOL

Anya Fun!

Have I mentioned that I LOOOOOOVE Anya? It's all Rachel Henahan's fault...she's the first one I saw use an Anya stamp on SCS and I fell in love immediately. She reminds me of my DDs and she's just sooooo cute and easy to use. Here's a 5.25 x 7.5 card I did with Pretty Hat Anya. I have a bunch of wedding invitation envelopes left over (12 years old, mind you) that I finally dug out one day to put in my stash...so every once in a while, I make a larger card to fit in these envies. There's red fun flock on Anya's hat and I will add a sentiment...just as soon as I figure one out.


Here's an Angel Anya card I made with some paper samples sent to me from PIF world on SCS.



And this cutie was my very first Anya. I made her for Krista's birthday, but then she didn't match the paper I used to wrap her gift, so I had to make her another card! LOL Obsessive aren't I?

New Look

I wanted a new look for my blog and all went well installing it, but in the process, I have lost all my side links... so be patient... I will replace them, just not tonite!

Time for some more cards

So finally, here's an SU only card...all products from SU. This is such a simple card...it was inspired by one I saw in a magazine. The middle daisies are from Upsy Daisy and the little border flower is from Dream a Little ( a new hostess set). The colors are Pink Passion, Black and white...how much easier could it be? I love pairing a little bit of black with the really bright colors...it tames them down.



This card was inspired while browsing other stamp sites...I don't remember who, (get it...whooooo) and one of their owl sets had this sentiment "Happy Owlentine's Day"...I thought of these stickers I had in my stash immediately...so I put one on for each of us. The little frame is done with my Cricut (loving it, BTW). the designer paper is from the retired Autumn Vine line.



And one more...all SU for ya! The hearts & flowers are one of my favourite sets "Simply Said". colors are Black Stazon, Real Red and Kiwi Kiss. The red heart is popped up on dimensionals. I love this color combo. I need more classes in Feb so I have time to demo this card...anyone want to do this one? I have lots of openings before Vday! LOL.

Last night I got into cleaning up my space and I found some Anya cards and bella cards I made a while back...I will post those later as I didn't get them scanned in. Off to do some blurfing now and see what I'll be working on this weeked :)

Magical Unicorn Challenge 2

I DID IT! I completed two more cards for The Greeting Farm's Magical Unicorn Challenge...and on time, too! Here are all three of my submissions...wish me luck!



The first one is Misty, of course...I already told you all about her.


Samantha helped me name the second one...she is Sparkle (NOT Sparkles, Mommy, just Sparkle). Sparkle is warm and loving and likes to run in the fields with her friends.





And finally, this is Flame...she didn't turn out anything like I had planned. I had envisioned something red & orange and flamey for her...oh well. She has a firey spirit, doesn't like to bend to the status quo and loves to show off her creativity (thus the little heart "tattoo" on her hiney).

Misty is Samantha's favourite because she's pink & purple...which one do you like?

Dallas Baptist University

No...I'm not going to university again, let alone all the way down in Texas... This is a followup to a blog candy post from the other day. Iheart2stamp has the most incredible blog candy prize up for grabs, but you have to send a card to Dallas Baptist University for the use of their international students (from over 50 countries) who want to correspond with people from home. WHAT A FAB idea! I love it! I am always giving away cards to people who need them...my pastor has received probably 100 cards from me this year as I try to whittle down my stash. I've also put together packs of cards for auctions, and given some to friends and family as gifts. So, this blog candy thing is right up my alley...I just wasn't sure if I had time to get it together, so I just posted the link for you the other night. Magical Unicorn contest entry #1

So the other day I finally broke down and bought some stamps from The Greeeting Farm (formerly Pink Poison stamps), the makers of the OH SOOOOOO ADORABLE Anya series. I'd never heard of this before, but they had some digi stamps...stamps that you print out on your printer at home and then color or decorate just like any other stamped image. NEATO I thought...and like they say on their site... "Instant Gratification" when you pay for the stamp (very reasonably priced, too). So, since my girls are into horses, unicorns and anything fantastical, I decided to buy the digi Unicorn stamp and try it out. At the very least I could use it for upcoming birthday invites, I thought.

Then The Greeting Farm announced a Magical Unicorn design contest. I can't think of a better way to inspire someone to play with her new stamps than to offer her the opportunity to win more free stamps! So, I spent the better part of my free time today coming up with this card. I think the hardest part was the sentiment...I wanted something more interesting that "Have a Magical Birthday", which is all I could think of at first. So I did a bit o' unicorn research and came up with "I Believe in You"...cute eh? I thought it could be a great card for soooo many occasions... one of my babysitters is starring in Beauty and the Beast this year... perhaps a friend needs to make a big decision about leaving work... I have a neice graduating high school and trying to make lots of life decisions (although the card is kind of cutesy for her). Anyhow, this is what I came up with. You're allowed 3 entries, so I'm going to try to find time for 2 more, but the deadline is Wednesday, so I don't know if I'll make it. OK...Let's try this again

I don't make New Year's resolutions, so I won't call it that...but I am going to try blogging again. I won't make any promises as to how often I will post, but I will try to post club projects and anything interesting I create or find for you. I'm still a loyal Stampin Up! demonstrator, but I have been experimenting with other companies that feature much different styles than SU and I am having fun. I still enjoy the ease of SU's color matching ink, paper, markers and designer papers.





And did I mention that the new Spring Summer 2009 catalogue begins this WEEKEND! And it is GORGEOUS if I do say so. A few highlights to look forward to:
