A little experiment

Today's experiment began with this card...a case of one I saw in a magazine recently. Soooo simple and such great way to use up some scraps! I love how the colors "POP" on the black base. I am thinking about adding some random bling or pearls to a few of the butterflies, but for this experiment, I wanted to keep them plain. After I made this card, I wondered how it would look on other base colors...thus my little experiment was born :)

So, next I tried the same color scheme on a Kiwi Kiss base (the kiwi prints didn't show up very well, so I kept them all pinky). Hmmmm.....wasn't reall thrilled with this one...so I thought I'd try white.

Ooooh...now isn't this a nice spring-y card? It's a totally different feel from the black one, isn't it? Funny how that is...it's the same basic card. But I couldn't stop there. I wondered if Cameo Coral would be better than the Kiwi version.

In the end, I decided I like the black one the best LOL with the white a close second. And wouldn't this make a great boxed set to give as a gift? I mean think about it...all the scraps you could use up? One little tip for this card...I used my Xyron to adhere all the butterflies...gives them a nice even coverage of adhesive and makes it super quick to do. Oh...and if you load up a repositionable cartridge in the X then it also makes it REALLY easy to move the butterflies around if you don't get them straight the first time (tee hee).

utterly fantastic!! love, LOve, LOVE it!!!
i like the white background best - it totally is similar to my flutter by card for this week.this card makes me think I need a "see what I missed" feature on my top 10 blog! But then I like the black next - guess I'm just opposite of you!
I hadn't bought that butterfly punch yet as I figured the 4 I had should suffice --- but I think your card has convinced me that I NEED it!!! Yep, need - not just want!

Oh, I get in moods like this too where I keep trying things to see how it would look if I changed it a bit. And I 100% agree with your favorites - black first, then white. :)
