Inktegrity on High

Joni over at Inktegrity is releasing an AWESOME new line up this week. If you love to paper piece, then you are gonna LOVE her new images, I paper pieced on almost every card I did for this release...just lookie:
For this card I paired the new airplane image with SU's Neighborhood jumbo wheel...this looks like my house when the wind is blowing just the right way and the planes are flying in/out over our subdivision LOL Some days, I swear they're landing in our back yard!

Now this card was F-U-N! Joni created some super-cool backgrounds to use with the new images and this "day time" city was one...I just ran it through my printer several times, cut out all the buildings, colored in some windows whiteand some grey and VOILA! Oh yes, and I added a cute little helicopter in the that a news reporter? Or does Britney live in that condo LOL This is a fabulous way to use up scraps of printed paper from your overflowing scrap bin! Now the "real" image is the helicopter...this just goes to show the flexibilitiy of digi images...they can be big like the airplane, or small like the helicopter.

Now, fly on over to the Inktegrity blog to see what the other DT members have come up with. And don't forget to come back throughout the week to see more of this fabulous release! Oh yeah, and Joni's Sticky Blog candy is still going on have two chances to win HERE and HERE.

Finally I made a Tri-Shutter Card

I'm not sure why I do this, but I seem to put off trying some of the great NEW folds that show up on SCS. This Tri-Shutter card is all over the place now and has been for several months, I'm sure. ANYHOW...I finally printed off the directions and pulled this one together with a few cutie pie Kettos from Stamping Bella. I will definitely be trying more of these...they're going to be as addictive as the stepper cards, I think!

Another I Wanna Be Just Like Pam...

I'm on a roll... I can't even count the number of cards I've made this week! I seriously need to start mailing some of these cards, they're taking over my room! Anyhow, diggin through my image stash again I came across Riding Hood Anya and thought, oh why not! I'll case Pam again! It was a great layout and so versatile. This time I kept it a little closer to the original this time and got it uploaded JUST in time.

A Personal Challenge

So, recently on the Canadian Express Image Swap thread at SCS, someone posed the question "which images are your fav/least fav to color?" Well, my fav is definitely the PMS fairies, followed closely by TGF's Anyas. And I find I have a difficult time with Sugar Nellies, Whiff of Joy and Magnolias for some reason. I think for one, I only have images of those, not the stamps, so I cannot do my fav thing which is to emboss the image on watercolor paper and color with markers and blender pens. So, I am limited to coloring with just markers, which makes it hard to shade, etc. Now, the opaque marker coloring seems to look great on Anyas, but not on some of the other least not to me...maybe my standards are too high? When I do see a Tilda that I love it's usually colored by some Copic expert on an uber-talent design team somewhere.
So I got to thinking...maybe I just need to practice...maybe I haven't been fair to these fabulous images? So I went diggin in my image swap stash and pulled out this gorgeous Lilac Tilda and Summer Background. (I love the fact that Magnolia has backgrounds and accessories to go with Tilda & Edwin). My first issue with this is that whatever paper the stamper used didn't take SU markers very well, but only in's really weird. And it was a cardstock weight, so I found it harder to cut out, but oh well.'s what I ended up with...not one of my favs, but I guess I'm not totally embarassed to send it out :) Perhaps I'll give them another chance.

I wanna Hula just like Pam!

Over at Club Anya, there's a sketch challenge going on called "I Want to be Just Like"...and this week it's Pam Varnell. To play we were to CASE the layout used by Pam in her featured card. I had to flip the sketch to make it work for me, but I'm really happy with this card. Not sure if you can make out all the bling...there are stickles in her hair, on her bikini top, in her skirt. There are tiny twinkles on the butterflies and around the sentiment. I've become quite fond of making "faux ribbon" this I did it again tonite...all it takes is a white gel pen and VOILA...ribbon in any color you need :)

SCS Color Challenge

A Few days late and a sentiment short, but here's my card for this week's SCS color challenge: Chocolate Chip, Kraft and Red...why is everyone forcing me to use Kraft lately? LOL I wanted to add a sentiment, but I just didn't get a chance...

The Pink Elephant's Digiments

With Michelle at Digiments taking the summer off from designing...I've kind of forgotten about all the fabulous sentiments she has over I broke them out again the other night for a few projects. This one was for The Pink Elephant's sketch challenge this week. Digiments will be having a new release in September...can't wait to see what she comes up with!

Color Dare 31

Last week was just such a blur I wasn't able to get to the Color Dare in time to get it posted...but things seem to be a bit slower this painting...just crafting! YAY! This week's Color Dare was: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard and Bashful Blue. I pulled out this cute Rope Swing image from my image swaps pile...why haven't I used her before???

Why don't you play along with us? Just link up your creation from your blog or SCS gallery so we can all see it! And if you don't have SU colors, or not these exact ones...just use what you have that's close...we still want to see.
ETA: It helps if I actually load up the picture LOL

Mojo Ketto

This week's Mojo Monday sketch was super-fabulous and soooo versatile. I'm definitely going to use this one again. I am just loving these MME Bloom & Grow papers...these were scraps from other projects, but the colors are just FABULOUS! And the Stamping Bella Kettos just SCREAM for bright colors if you ask me :) I didn't have just the right ribbon for this one, so I made Faux Wide Double Stitched Ribbon with a strip of Bermuda Bay c/s and a white gel pen!

I Used NEW paper!

OMGosh...I am sooo used to picking through my scraps of paper I forgot how nice it is to break out something totally new...and CURRENT! LOL I decided to bring out this gorgeous MME Bloom & Grow paper to play in the PMS Monday Challenge this week. I've been hoarding this black patterened paper for a couple of months now because I just looooove it and wanted to keep looking at it LOL  I also broke into a new package of Prima flowers! Ooooh...I'm soooo wasteful LOL

The Purple Elephant

Yes, that's right...a purple elephant...not it's not a challenge blog to compete with The Pink Elephant LOL. It's a combination of two challenges. This week's Corrosive Challenge was a jungle theme and the challenge at Kaboodle Doodles (my first time playing there) was Purple, Black and white. For some strange reason, I immediately was able to combine these challenges...First I thought of this DCWV Teen Stack paper for the jungle theme and since it was just fit! All I had to do was choose an animal :) I love it when that happens. Now I just need someone to cheer up LOL

Flourishes Color Challenge

This week's Timeless Tuesday challenges on the Flourishes blog was: Olive, Red and Black. Since Irises and Daffodils don't come in those colors, I was left with a DIY topiaries to play with...I really need to get more Flourishes stamps, I just can't decide which ones! LOL I colored the topiary with Olive and added tiny little rhinestone stars...kind of reminds me of Christmas lights...I kept thinking "maybe this is what they do in the tropics" LOL. Anyhow....I love the way the card turned out, but I just couldn't put a sentiment on it...I like it plain. The flash on my camera caught the glow of the glue for the stars, but in person you don't see of the pitfalls to taking photos when you're having a "hurricane"...although, this is a pretty tame storm to label "hurricane"!

I'm exhausted and it's not even supper time yet! I've spent a good part of the day scrapbooking while the kids watched movies during the storm. Unfortunately it wasn't the fun, creative type of scrapbooking that you want to show everyone when you're done. I went through a HUGE stack of writing samples, arts & crafts, journaling and paintings from DDs Primary year. I'd been putting it off because it's not "pretty" scrapbooking, but I do believe it's very important stuff to preserve. So, I spent hours at it this morning...some pages were just a "pocket" to hold a pile of writing samples. And then I had to fight with the darn scrapbook to get them all in...seems the protectors I'd stocked up on are only 11.75 x 11.75, so I had to trim everything down. As sore as my feet are from standing there all that time, I really feel like I accomplished a lot today. I mean a huge pile and a bucket of stuff is gone...sure, lots of it went into the recycling bag, but it's GONE. Now...I just need to get to work on the photos that are still stored on the computer LOL...but I'll save that for another day.

The Pink Elephant's Inktegrity

Ha your attention, didn't I? LOL This is my Pink Elephant Challenge submission. The Challenge this week was "summer" and what says summer more than a big honkin' piece 'o watermelon? Nuttin! This is Inktegrity's image "Sweetie" and the dp was in my scrap bin just waiting to be's by American Crafts.

ETA: Don't forget about Joni's two blog could win a gift certificate and free digi images!

PMS Belli Challenge

Last night I finally got to play in my new craft space! Unfortunately the first card I tried for the PMS challenge was a complete flop! I mean U-G-L-Y! I wasted a bunch of bling on it too :( Then I decided to break out Penelope...I have been intimidated by this PMS fairy for some reason and have put off using her. The PMS challenge this week was to use blue, green and black. Sounds pretty easy, but the first card was a disaster. I just didn't seem to have any paper that worked for me. THEN I remembered this SEI Charlemagne collection pad I had and everything just fell into place. This paper is so elegant and striking, it's the perfect match for Penelope. In the end, I'm very happy with this card...I didn't even CASE A sketch! Her wings are covered in stickles, which is why they are soooo bright :)

This is also one of my entries for the Belli Challenge this week...I haven't played there for a while. The challenge was to use only water based markers...NO COPICS. Not difficult for me since I don't have many Copics and I only use them for skin usually. So I used good 'ol Blush Blossom for her skin. And when you use markers & blender pens on watercolor paper you can get a similar shading effect to Copics.

High School All Star

DH was hogging the computer today and the kids were watching a movie, so I wanted to play in my new space... luckily I had this Inktegrity All Star image leftover from printing for the release, so I decided to make a card using my High School colors: light blue, dark blue and yellow. And I nearly forgot...go check out Joni's blog HERE and the Inktegrity blog here for two chances to win her Sticky Blog Candy :) It's a good one!

This card also qualifies for the Belli Challenge to use only water based markers.

My NEW Craft Studio! YAY Me! took a whole week from start to finish, but I think it was worth it. It took me two days just to move everything and organize, reorganize and reorganize again LOL. But now I am ready to show the world my new Craft Studio (formerly known as the dining room.)

This is the view from the front entrance to the house. First off...HARDWOOD FLOORS! How much easier will this be to clean? LOL We keep the central vac in this room anyhow to use on a daily basis in the kitchen, so it's perfect for cleaning up all the bits o paper & glitter on the floor. YES, my dining room was red to begin with...I loved it, but DH was tired of the of the reasons I got to didn't need to be painted if I took it over. I bought the black counter tops at a local discount building supply place for a mere $130 (Normally it would have been at least $400, which I wouldn't have been able to afford. The bases were custom built by my nephew out of recycled melamine shelving bought at the same place for $20.
A bookshelf I picked up FREE today thanks to a generous freecycle member. It's got some ugly stickers on it, but I only plan to use it temporarily while I'm figuring out what I really need.
Beside the new bookshelf is my taller plastic cart...housing miscellaneous stuff: adhesives, alterables, stickers, ribbon duplicates. That is DD Elizabetth trying to get into the photos. LOL.
The NEW bookcase I bought and assembled...I thought it was going to be a nice display case...but it's full LOL. It's housing all my cards (two + shelves) sorted loosely by company & purpose. To the right you can see my wire cubes rebuilt to hold my SU Stamps and extra ink pads (that is a recycled salad container...which is also what all my my cards are stored in right now). Scrapbooks and some supplies are on the base shelves.
My main work space. The chair is under the counter...DH just shoved it there. I stand when I stamp, so the counter is 36 inches high, which is a perfect standing up height. I just need to get a stool for sitting while I color. I put towel bars on the wall for my punches, but my little punches don't fit, so they're on top of the marker cart to the right. The box underneath is filled with large zip loc bags filled with all my plain cardstock scraps, sorted by colors. The "piece de resistance" is the pegboard system. When I told my nephew that I wanted to put up pegboard, he suggested making shelves behind it so that the space wasn't wasted...made sense to me, so this is what we have.
Pegboard closed.
Inside of pegboard unit. Notice all the cd cases of unmounted stamps in the top left...I just need to label them for easy looking. All my embellies, single wood stamps, Cricut cartridges, reinkers, nesties and acrylic blocks are in there out of the way!
My high tech closer device (it's a ponytail elastic).
The far right corner of the counter houses my 2 Xyrons, Cuttlebug, Cricut, ribbon keepers, scrap designer papers and miscellaneous stuff I didn't get put away yet. There's a smaller plastic card under there with alterables and gifty things in it, all my baggies, etc. Also under the counter a bag of coasters, my portable storage cart and more alterables. I think I need to start altering some of the stuff I'm storing!!!
This is DD Samantha getting in the way of the pic of my paper storage cubes LOL.
On the back wall I have my 6 foot table...currently empty, but there for classes. And I'm sure it won't take long for stuff to migrate to there. I have doors to put on both entrances to the room...more to keep the cats out, but also the kids on occasion. I am hoping to get an inkpad wall unit from SUink for Christmas and perhaps a nice wall unit for ribbon storage...both will help clear off the counter top. I think I am going to love my new home. It's right beside the kitchen, for one. I'll be able to nip in and play while the kids are watching some movie for the kazillionth time. Not to mention being able to clean up easier as the sink is right there. It's very convenient for holding classes in my house too...I can easily fit 6 and possibly 8 people and now they don't have to go down into my basement! The only thing I'll miss is the 10 degrees cooler that the basement was in the summer. But in the winter my hands won't be stiff from cold either. It's all good!
Tonight I will be actually PLAYING in my new space for the first time. I can't wait! Thanks for looking at my old & new spaces.

My OLD Stamping "Space"

Before I show you what my new craft space looks like, here are some pics of what I was dealing with before.

This was my workspace...or lack thereof! I stamped on the green mat on the left and the rest of the 6 foot table was FULL of stuff! There's a bulletin board on the wall that held some light supplies, project instructions, cards from friends, and other info. Oh yes, there's my Cricut...which I had to adjust everytime I wanted to use it. The grey thing in the middle is my Tonic 12x12 cutter (LOOOVE it!).
Under the table are miscellaneous things I was recycling, my heat gun, my CB Binder, and the filing cabinet that has not much to do with crafting LOL.
To the right of the table is the "old" computer station. Notice how the CB is on the computer desk? And my Cricut Cartridges are on the very top of the CD holder on top of the desk.
This was my unruly unmounted stamp storage "system"... Needless to say it wasn't fun to look at all the stamps and find the one I needed. And they were sitting on top of two non-stacking, but stacked "organizers" that didn't work very well.
Next to the stack of unmounted is my little marker cart...holds all my markers perfectly. Then the SU ribbon keepers...stacked six high and still overflowing LOL!
My new Nestabilities storage tin. When not in use, they all lay flat and the top closes. They are held on to the cardboard sheets with magnetic sheets.
My main paper storage. Wire cubes from Costco and put together with cable ties at the heights I prefered. The bottom cubes are full of "schtuff" I had nowhere else to store. To the left, you can see I used the same system for my SU Stamps. Both sets of cubes are stacked on top with sttuff as well.
Another view of my stamp storage cubes. I had two plastic carts FULL...punches alone took up three drawers! You can see I'm spilling onto the floor in no organized way.
Abover the carts were built in shelves full of magazines, extra NIP paper, embellishments and sewing supplies. Oh yes, and 4 boxes of reinkers teetering carefully LOL.
My floor...just like a line down the middle for me & DH. Except for the computer he never crossed the pile in the middle. From front to back: Blog Candy box, layouts for scrapbooking club, my portable case, sale box, 2 iris boxes full of dp, several scrapbooks standing up, and just to the left of that my white display board and under that a "broken" scrapbook (which I finally fixed today).
And finally, the top of DH's bookcase and the window sill LOL. There's boxes of cards, and piles of "stuff" for scrapbooks.
Ok...that's what I had until this week... stay tuned for the new look!

More Anni-Verve-Sary cards

First off, don't forget, today is RELEASE DAY at Inktegrity! Hop on over there to pick up the new Have a Ball series of images Joni has created. And check out the Inktegrity Blog for more cute creations.
Here are two more of the cards I did last week for the Anni-Verve-Sary sketch challenges. The first card uses dp from The Angel Company and Dreams Du Jour stamp. The second car uses Perfect Plum prints and Pocket Silhouettes.

Today is moving day...for my Sister. She just bought a condo and I'm helping her no crafting today...but I will likely be painting again :) HER bedroom LOL. My craft space is all built! YAY! But...a big oopsie on my end...the shelves I painted peeled really bad and I have to redo them properly :( So, I'm not taking pics until that is done...but I'm sooooo excited to have everything built. I cannot wait to bring everything up and start organizing! I have sooooo much space...I'll definitely need to buy more stash to fill it ;)

PMS Challenge Cards

WHEW. What a week! I'm surprised I found time to fit in all these challenges...but I hate to miss the PMS challenges...I just love these stamps! I was sooo disappointed to miss the release party while I was on vacation...I even thought about the girls having fun without me that night. Today my parents are visiting and my father is helping me paint my DD's bedroom...she is 4 and it's about time she had something "better" than the nursery decor, isn't it? She's getting a yummy-licious pink on pink room with Disney Princess border.

This card is for this week's Monday challenge: to use stickers. I combined it with another Anni-Verve-Sary sketch challenge.

This card combined the PMS Release Party Challenge #1 with the Tuesday Morning Sketch by Mel.
This last card is for the release party challenge to CASE a card from the PMS gallery at SCS. I cased a card by Meli and changed the color scheme & sentiment.

Another Inktegrity Preview wanna know what I'm loving about Joni's new Inktegrity line of digi images? They're UNIQUE! Not only do I love the little faces of these characters, but with her Have a Ball line, she's picked sports that I'm not seeing absolutely everywhere (i.e soccer) even the themes are a bit unique...and I LOVE UNIQUE! So, keeping with the flavor of unique, I thought I would use the Anni-Verve-Sary challenge #4 sketch to make this bright colored Tennis card, a la Venus & Serena Williams... Ha ha! Head on over the the Inktegrity Blog to see some more great creations from the design team with this image, which will be released on Sunday!

TODAY is the big day!!! My nephew is here building my new craft room! I am so uber excited. We decided about a month ago that our dining room was "wasted space" because we so rarely eat in there. So we moved the furniture to the Living Room and I'm getting to convert the Dining Room into my very own craft studio. this is really going to help me when I hold classes and workshops. I picked out a kitchen counter top and he's building some shelving for's going to be soooo much better than  what I'm working with now. I will post before & after pics next week.

Have a Ball with Inktegrity!

WHEW...crazy hectic week...and it's not looking any better for a while...but I did manage to catch up with some assignments and challenges last night finally! And first up is a card that is a day late (but hopefully not a dollar short LOL). Joni previewed the first of the new releases from Have a Ball and it's this super cute Basketball girl... I was a Basketball girl in school, so I can relate to her. Maybe that's why I instinctively chose Red & White for this card...that was my middle school colors (I didn't play bball after that). This is also my first card in the Anni-Verve-Sary challenge with Verve Stamps, using one of the five sketches Julee created for the celebration. Now, head on over to the Inktegrity Blog to see yesterday's creations with this image, and a new image being previewed today (I didn't create with the image being shown today). The new Inktegrity series Have a Ball will be released on Sunday August 16th! Don't forget to check back over the next few days for more sneak peeks!

Rockin' the Color Dare 29

The Color Dare divas are bustin' out the new SU In-Colors starting this week and first up is one of my favs Rich Razzleberry. The Dare was to pair it with Night of Navy and Apricot Appeal. Hmmmm....didn't sound toooo hard compared to some of the previous ones, but I'm just not 100% happy with this one...not really sure's cute...I mean Anya is always cute... Anyhow...with vacations, and back to school shopping and parents visiting, DT assignments, and a sister moving this week, I just didn't have time to try again.

Wanna play along? We love to see what others have done with the suggested combos. And if you don't have the new Rich Razzleberry...hmmm... try Perfect Plum instead...or whatever you have on hand...don't forget you don't have to use SU colors to participate.

Today's the Day at Inktegrity!

It's the grand "Re-Opening" and release day over at Inktegrity. Joni has some of the cutests images going in the digital world right now...pop on over and pick up the ladybugs, or some of her cutie pie kids images. This sentiment is from High Hopes again...they just work so well with the lady bugs :)

This card is all paper pieced...the ladybug uses some Real Red prints. The limb is Close to cocoa and the leaves are printed on tiny scraps of retired celery printed paper...that's why you need to keep all your little scraps...they are so helpful for paper piecing! The "Howdy" sentiment is from Starving Artist Stamps.

Don't forget to check out all the Inktegrity Divas (list to your right) to see their creations with Inktegrity images.
