I Design With INKtegrity!

WHOO HOOO! I am soooo thrilled to finally let everyone know that Joni has asked me to be on the design team for Inktegrity, her new digi stamp company. Her images are so cute, and unique, so I am thrilled to be a part of this team! To celebrate, I made this card tonight just for the big announcement. This little cutie pie is "Sweetie" and she's just adorable! I used some TAC designer paper I had in my scrap bin and colored with Melon Mambo, Gable Green, Creamy Caramel, Bravo Burgandy and Lavender Lace. You've probably also seen this layout around a bit this week because it's the MOJO Monday sketch...I'm just a bit late using it LOL. And this cute sentiment is from Digiments...and it's a'll just have to go back a page or two :)

Mmmm...I'm so thirsty right now...I wish I had a piece of watermelon THAT big Tee Hee. Our summer has been really crappy more than two days of sun in a row, and as I've said much rain we're going moldy! This card brightened my night a bit and I hope it will encourage the sun to come out as I'm headed out for a vacation at DH's family cottage...and pretty much the whole family will be 13 people! YIKES! Luckily it's right across from a great beach...thus my prayers for sun this week...this place is notoriously foggy. OK...enough about that. Head on over to the Inktegrity blog to see the images Joni has available already, but make sure you check it out on the 6th as she's going to release some very cute and totally different images that will be great for summer. I'll have a preview on Wednesday and two more cards on Thursday for you to see...if blogger is working while I'm gone :)

Have a great long weekend if you've got one this weekend! Wishing everyone SUN!!!

Color Dare 27

Sorry... I am still without a camera and relying on scanning...hope to remedy that soon :) This week's Color Dare is Pink Pirouette, Elegant Eggplant, Chocolate Chip and Basic Grey. I found this piece of dp in my Once Upon a Time stack from DCVW and thought all the colors were represented...but they're pretty muted. The only Basic Grey is really the cloud Altee-tude is sitting on...isn't she adorable? I think she's my fav 'Tude from Stamping Bella.

Are you playing along with us at Color Dare? Don't forget to link your creation on the blog so we can see what you do with the dare each week.

Double Challenge Iris

GRRRRR! I hate trying to scan my cards! So sorry this one is blurry. I hope to have a new camera soon. This card is for the Tuesday Morning Sketch and Flourishes Timeless Tuesday (and hey, I actually DID it on Tuesday as well). The dp is Perfect Plum prints from SU. I embossed the Iris on watercolor paper and used my Perfect Plum, Pale Plum and Elegant Eggplant SU markers, and a blender pen, to do the coloring and shading. I think I'm getting better at it! LOL

PMS Monday Challenge

DH is sitting here waiting for the computer, so this is gonna be a real quick post...just wanted to get my PMS challenge card up today. I broke out the cute squirrel for this one...I still have so many PMS stamps that I haven't used yet! I rotated the sketch in the end, and moved the embellishment to a different corner...sentiment will go on the inside again.

TGF Card Kits

I will be back later today with the deets on my blog candy (see list on the left!) I just have to figure out how to get a pic without a camera! LOL...going to try to use my laptop it might take a while!
A while back I won some blog candy on Kadie's blog In My Minds Eye. What I got were a couple of card kits and a bunch of Greeting Farm images.... YAY! I even got to choose the I got some that I don't have stamps for, of course. Here are the first two cards I did with one of the kits Kadie sent.
Next I made these two cards from the other kit. There's no sentiment on the front, but the inside has a nice PMS sentiment about rain.
Then the card kits were pretty much used up...I have a few pieces of dp left, but I had these cute Hello Ians left to use, so I found some dp in my bin to make these ones. I loved coloring Ian's hat...plaid is sooo much fun!
Now, if you like TGF, or you want to see more, please head over to Kadie's blog...she was on the TGF Spring Farmers team and has lots of fabulous inspiration there...leave her some love, too.

Let the sun shine....PLEASE!

If you're not living on the east coast...especially in Canada & northern US... then you probably don't know we're having the WETEST, RAINIEST summer ever. Seriously there have been so few days of sun here that all our gardens and plants are not soggy...they're MOLDY! Moss and mushrooms are taking over our lawn.

So, between this month's FREE Digiment and the sketch for Mel's Tuesday Morning Sketches, I came up with this bright and sunny plea for Mr. Sun to come back. The original Digiment was all black and in one line, but I needed it to be more of the many benefits of can change them! The birds are from BG's Lime Rickey line...I love the quirky little guys.

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge 11

I blurfed my way over to Priscilla's the other day for her awesome Blog Candy draw (an SU Big Shot) and found she hosts a sketch challenge, too. So, I decided to try the sketch last night and this is what I came up with! The sentiment is from Digiments. I had planned to add some acorns at the bottom, but the buttons just looked soooo good, I forgot about the nuts :) The paper is Lime Rickey from Basic Gray and the buttons are from BG too.

PMS Monday Challenge

Hi all, just a really quick post this morning to get this challenge card up! My camera died a few months back and I'd been borrowing my sister's extra little one and now she needs it back, so I'm relegated to scanning pics for a I apologize in advance if they pics are blurry in parts...when there's dimension it's hard to get a good clear scan. The challenge at PMS this week was Pink & Brown. This was my first chance to use Ashlie and she looks soooo cute in Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip. The blingy stickers are Marcella by K. Sorry...gotta run! Thanks for looking :)

You MUST go check out Priscilla's blog candy...she's giving away a BIG SHOT & carrying bag!

Color Dare 26

This week's Color Dare challenge is: Barely Banana, Close to Cocoa and Bravo Burgandy. I decided to use Lilly from PaperMakeup Stamps again... I think she's becoming my favorite stamp (of course there are more PMS fairies on their way LOL). I had this Close to Cocoa cuttled card front in my scrap bin and wanted to use it up...I'm still trying to conquer the scrap bin...I don't think I ever will! But I always look there first before cutting into a new sheet of paper. Lilly is embossed with Versamark & black ep on watercolor paper. I colored her in with my SU markers and a blender pen. The sentiment is an AC MiniMarks rubon. the little rhinestones in the corners are actually light pink in case you can't make them out.
Wanna play along? If you don't have SU just use what you have that's close to these colors. Don't forget to link your creation to the Color Dare Blog post for this week so we can see everyone's creations!

Sugarlicious Challenge

Sugar Dee gave us a double challenge this week: a sketch and a color challenge...Black, White and Purple! Ooooh...I am all over that one! I LOOOOVE purple. I pulled out one of my fav MSB images for the challenge "I Totally Support You" and colored her shirt up in Lovely Lilac. I used my Frills CB embossing border folders for the Lilac strips and added purple rhinestones in every other circle for a little bling, bling. I found the perfect sentiment in one of my AC Mini Marks books and VOILA! A Lovely Lilac card Tee Hee. Why don't you play along with the Sugars this week? One person will win 2 free MSB digis. Digiments Release Preview

There's a wonderful new release available at Digiments on Saturday... it's choc-a-bloc full of fabulous inspirational quotes, everyday sentiments, kids quotes and more! Today I'm featuring the quote from a song that I've had running around in my head since MAY! HONESTLY! When Michelle released the "God is bigger than any problem I have" digiment, it made me think of this one, which is a song from VeggieTales. I've been singing it ever since LOL So I suggested to Michelle that she make a set of Digiments for kids based on Bible songs...and she did! So, in honour of the inspiration for this set, here is my Boogeyman card!

The cute little monsters are from PaperMakeup Stamps. I'm not sure who makes this Halloween dp...I just had one scrap of it that was perfect for this card. And I couldn't resist adding googley eyes to the monsters. I can't wait until I can give this to one of my daughters when they're scared of something. I can just see DD2 hanging it on the wall above her bed to remind her that everything will be ok. Please come back on Saturday for another fabulous sentiment from Digiments, and don't forget to check out all the sneak peeks from the DT.

Color Dare 25

I often hear people saying they need to make Sympathy cards...don't know what to do for them...need ideas for them. Well, the best advice I have is to get this set from Stampin Up: Close as a Memory. It makes wonderful Sympathy cards. This week's Color Dare was really hard for me used Rich Regals colors! So, I pulled out a go-to set :) I colored directly on the rubber with Brocade Blue, Taken with Teal and Chocolate Chip...the only Kraft in my creation today is the mat :) But that counts!

Come play along...I can't wait to see what everyone else does with this color combo! No SU? No problem...just use what you have. Don't forget to link up to the Color Dare Blog so we can check out all the creations!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday

Last week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge was to "cut it out and pop it up"... since I was working on my Flourishes ATC swap, I decided to add some dimension to the daffodil by "paper toleing" it. It's so hard to see on the screen, but I cut out the bell & 2 petals and popped up that piece and then I popped up the two petals on top of that the daffodil has 3 layers. In person it looks quite realistic I think. I am sooooooo very glad I finally got up the nerve to get this set...I was scared of trying to color it, but with watercolor paper it's so easy to color. This is most definitely my FAVOURITE Flourishes set so far. Now, I just need to figure out what to add to this little needs something...but I can't quite put my finger on it. I'm thinking maybe the words daffodil across the top as a little border perhaps. Anyhow...I'll worry about that AFTER vacation :) NOW...back to the beach, TA!

Sugarlicious Challenge

This week's Modern Sugar Blvd. challenge was a toughie for me...Joni challenged us to use a tag on our cards...well, I'm not much for tags. I do use them for sentiments sometimes, but for some reason, Joni tells me I have to use one and I draw a blank! Anyhow, this is what I finally came up with...I like to just google quotes for the images I have sometimes, and this one from Burt Reynolds was just too funny. I think this will be an anniversary card for someone soon LOL Join me and the rest of the Sugars in this week's challenge. Don't forget to link your creation to the MSB Blog post for today so we can see all the creations in one place.

With a Cherry on Top!

Last night I sat down to create two cards for the PMS Release Party Challenges for this month. Luckily for me, Christi (the stamp) had arrived on my doorstep and was just itching to see some ink. When I saw this stamp, I immediately knew I would create cards with the Rockabilly paper I'd been hoarding. The card above is for the sketch challenge, which was based on a super cute card by Lisabee.

This card is for the Case Katie challenge. We were to pick a card from Katie's (PMS Owner) SCS gallery or blog and CASE it using the SCS Featured Stamper rules: change two things. So if  you care to see, here is the card I cased. And above is the result. I changed the color scheme & the stamp...after all, Christi really needed more than one stamping spell :)

Ok...I'm going on auto-post for the next week as we're going on vacation and will NOT have any internet access (also no TV, no shopping, nothing to do except read & go to the beach across the street)...let's hope for better weather! Please do come back on Wednesday for my Color Dare card and on Thursday & Saturday for my Digiments release creations, and don't forget Sugarlicious Saturday challenges too :)

Tuesday Morning Sketches (on Friday)

Have you checked out the brand new challenge blog my gal Mel has started? This week is her first challenge and she's got some great sponsors lined up already for prizes. This was such a great sketch I even had time to make two cards, slightly different... it's a great way to use up those 1" strips of dp I always seem to have hanging around.
So, the new challenge blog is Tuesday Morning Sketches and I'd love to see how you can use up your scraps on this sketch. And this week, another friend, Joni at Inktegrity is the prize you could win some of her super cute digi images for playing along!

Sweet Release

Today is release day at Modern Sugar Blvd. In addition to Yoga Mom that I featured yesterday, you can also pick up the fabby images in the store later today. First up is the super cool Elvis cuppie...he's just a hunka hunka burnin' love, ain't he? I got my inspiration for these colors from his infamous and outrageous peacock jumpsuit...just google's AWESOME!

Next we have the super couple...waffles & maple don't get any more Canadian than maple syrup :) Mmmmm.... is it breakfast time??? Why, I think it look at this cute card, while I got get me some waffles and maple syrup!

Oh....tummy grumbling...but I gotta tell ya...this was the most super-easy card I've done in ages! I printed the image & sentiment on the paper in one pass, embossed with my curved rectangle nestie, colored the butter & bottle, then sponged on lots of Cocoa ink. Quick & easy...just like eggos LOL

Before I go... don't forget to check out all the Sugarlicious creations by the rest of the DT today and then head on over to the store to pick up some new toys to play with...instant gratification!

MOJO Inspired PMS :)

I know, I know...the title made you come and look, didn't it? LOL This week's challenge at PaperMakeup Stamps was an inspiration challenge and it was right up my alley. The inspiration pic was a bright & sunny Hello Kitty graphic. I decided to cut into some My Mind's Eye Bloom & Grow paper...I think this is the first NEW paper I've cut into in a month! I've been trying to use up scraps, but I just WANTED to try this new paper and it was the perfect colors. I pulled out a much under-loved sentiment from PMS and followed the MOJO Monday sketch for this week. I liked this card soooo much, that I decided to use some more of the paper and make two more with different images... Here's all three together.

Sneaky Color Dare 24

This week's Color Dare was Mellow Moss, Rose Red, Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla. I thought this was a very serene color combo, so I decided to use it to feature one of Modern Sugar Blvd's upcoming new releases... you'll be able to snag Yoga Mom tomorrow at the MSB Store.
If you have a chance, please come play along with the Color Dare this week. If you don't have SU products, just use what you have that is close in color. We'd love for you to link your creation to the Color Dare Blog so we can check it out!

High Hopes Challenge 38: Dots

I found myself with a bit of time to "just play" this week...I'm way ahead on all my DT assignments for I decided to check out some of the challenges I don't get to play very often. This week's High Hopes Challenge was Lots of Dots. I couldn't decide which bunny I wanted to use, so when I found a large scrap of this dotty paper, I decided to use it up and make one of each!
I'm not 100% happy with the laout of the bottom card. I do however really like Orchid Opulence with the new Rich Razzelberry color.

Flourishes By The Sea Challenge

Flourishes is releasing some new stamps this week and to celebrate they're having a challenge: By the Sea...incorporate the feeling of the ocean into your card. Well...since I only have three stamp sets so far from Flourishes, this was difficult... I immediately thought of blue & sand, but Irises and Daffodils don't exactly look natural in blue LOL. So I was left with DIY Topiary. But I couldn't seem to get blue into it... then I started thinking about the beaches I go to ... there's more green & brown there than blue (well, ok, the ocean is blue, but work with me!) The beach at the family cottage is part of the highest tides in the world, so when the tide is OUT, we have a beach that is about 1/2 mile wide/deep (from the road to the water)...THAT'S a lot of brown. The coastline is lined with grass and trees and it's really quite beautiful. Granted, our trees are not perfectly groomed into topiaries. So, that's where my color scheme comes from, the green grass and sandy beach that we'll be enjoying in about 7 days! WHOOO HOOO! Of course, that means I'll probably miss the Flourishes release party...but I'll have something to look forward to when I get stamp sets!

Sugarlicious Challenge

Today's Modern Sugar Blvd. challenge is brought to you by Jana: Red, White and Blue...rather appropriate isn't it? Well, it is if you're in the US for today I'm pretending to be American LOL I'm getting a bit more adventurous with my nestie collection lately and I really like sponging the die cuts like just leave your paper IN the die and rub ink the frame stays white...It works great for those nesties that don't nest to the perfect size you need, like these curved rectangles.

The sentiment I used is a Digiment from the June release. I recolored two of them to match SU colors and then overlapped them to create a two color sentiment. Love the versatility of digi! I also used my nifty little star-shaped Tiny Twinkles on the flag cute.

If you're not busy celebrating today, why not join in the us what you can do for the Red, White and Blue with some sweet MSB images! Don't forget to link your creation up on the MSB Blog for your chance to win TWO FREE DIGI IMAGES!

Color Dare 23

WHEW! Ok...I'm going to admit it...this was a really difficult combo for me. I don't seem to do well with Rich Regals and this week's combo was Bashful Blue, Blush Blossom, Kraft and Handsome Hunter. This is actually the third card I did with this combo. I'm not going to post the second one at all (it was horrendous, really!) But here is the first one...

I just found this one dark, I guess...thought it was ok, but I knew I could do better :) the only Blush Blossom in this is the skin! And I swear I didn't even notice the sentiment was crooked until I looked at the scan on screen!
So, want a challenge this week? See what you can create with these colors (or similar if you don't have SU) and link up to the Color Dare Blog so we can check out your work. Don't forget to check out the rest of the Color Dare gals today to see what they did with this combo...I know I can't wait to see what I COULD have done LOL.

Great Blog Candy at Motivet!

Motivet stamps have some of the cutest little squirrel images I've seen...and they have great ways to win free stamps. Check out the blog HERE to see how you could win all the stamps pictured above!
