Dancing in the Rain

Isn't this just the cutest little bee you've seen? This little guy is designed by Dustin Pike, a serious up & commer, I think...can you believe he was told nobody would want to use his images because they were too "cute"????? IMAGINE! Dustis generously giving away several free digi images on his blog, and posts a new one every week...check him out!

I chose the colors to play in the Color Throwdown for this week, but since I'm autoposting for later, I can't link up on their page...oh's still a great combo... Real Red, Barely Banana and Basic Black. I paper pieced the umbrella with some Real Red dp from SU (wished I had thought to do matching boots). The sentiment is from PaperMakeup Stamps.

Oops... this was supposed to post while I was away...oh well...posting it now :)

My Digiments Audition Cards

FYI - I'm still on autopost :) Let's see today I will be sailing the Carribbean somewhere between Miami and Cozumel.
Fellow SCSer Michelle (mearsfansinboise) is starting up a new company called Digiments. All sentiments and all digital... I was just thinking the other day I wish there were more digi sentiments available. They are so can size them just how you's a fabulous idea. Anyhow, Michelle is looking for a design team and since I thought it was such a great idea, I applied. Here are the two cards I sent in for my audition. I did two because when the first one was done, I didn't feel like it featured the digiment well enough.
Hope you're having as good a day as me :)

Modern Sugar Challenge #1

Modern Sugar Blvd. is having a challenge to celebrate the opening of the store this week...all you have to do is grab the great FREE digi image and make a project with her. You have until tonite to submit your entries. Here is my card for the challenge...I used Madelynn's Twinkling Tuesday sketch by Jack this first time playing there. I think she turned out really cute. These papers are from the Paper Studio and I just thought they had the retro look this gal screams for.

I apologize if the formatting on this is a bit wonky... it's on autopost as I'll be away this week and I'm not sure how it's going to present :)

PMS Color Challenge

I think I have found a new favorite color combo :) This week's challenge at PMS was Cameo Coral, Old Olive, Summer Sun and Kraft...sounds a bit daunting, doesn't it? Well, one look at the PMS design team's samples and I HAD to play myself. It's a stunning bright and sunny...I just wish I had Kraft ink. You'll be seeing more of this combo when I get back...I made another card with it that I can't show you YET!
So this is Kirsten from PaperMakeupStamps. The dp is Raspberry Tart from SU. The sentiment & swirly black rubons are Mini Marks from American Crafts. I used Yellow stickles on Kirsten's wings...aren't they super sunny? And Frosted Lace Stickles on the dandelion.
Well, I have a couple of things set to auto-post while I'm on vacation next week...wouldn't want you to miss me too much LOL I'll be back on May 4th...but you won't recognize me cause I'll be all tanned up (NOT!).

Blogging Awards

I don't know why it means so much to me to receive these awards...but it does. I know there are tons of them floating around, but when someone takes the time to say YOU deserve to be recognized, it makes you feel good. I've received two great awards this week... first from Cassie, the Kharma Award.

The Karma Award: These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind of bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award. So, I nominate:
And I'm way over due in accepting Linda's Best Blog Comments award... I would like to pass this one along to:

CC215 Basic Rose Pirouette

This is my submission for today's Color Challenge at SCS: Basic Grey, Rose Red & Pink Pirouette (or Pretty in Pink). I brought Lauren from PMS out of hiding for this one :) I just think pink looks so nice on her :)
Don't forget to check out the challenge over at the Modern Sugar Blvd blog today! Just download the free digi and create a Sugarlicious project with her for a chance to win a fab prize package! And check back again tomorrow when more digis are revealed!

The Unknown Sketch

Do you remember "The Unknown Comic"? He was a comedian who's "gig" was wearing a paper bag over his head? I don't remember if he was any good, but I sure remember him LOL Anyhow...I made these cards a few days ago based on a sketch challenge, but now I can't find the sketch to credit them! If you recognize the sketch, please let me know!

Today is THE Day! MSB is OPEN!

Modern Sugar Blvd is OPEN FOR BUSINESS! And I can finally show you what I spent my entire Easter Weekend working on at my in-laws. Yes, at my IN-LAWS! About 10 minutes before our 5 hour drive, I found out I had made the team...I threw together a bag of supplies that I hoped would work for the new images I was about to receive and off I cuttlebug, no cricut, no nesties, a handful of paper, no stamps (YIKES), a few embellishements and that's about it.
I started messing around with some free digi papers I found and was having so much fun playing that I ended up doing hybrid projects for my Round 2 submissions... by hybrid I mean that while most of the work was done on the computer, and printed off, I still did old-fashioned paper pieceing by hand and added ribbon and embellies.
Anyhow... here is what I submitted!

Introducing.... Cake Gal!

Here she appears on a recipe card you can slip into a coordinating apron holder and attach to your favorite cake at an auction, or for a neighbor or friend.

And Cake Gal is joined by
Blogging Gal...she reminds me of me on my new laptop LOL. This is also a hybrid project... It's all one layer, printed from my computer, and then I paper pieced Blogging Gal by hand and added her on top, tied on a ribbon and added some bling in the corner.
So, you wanna see more? Then head on over to these "Sugars" blogs to see what they did with these images. And don't forget to stop by the store and the blog for all the fun for the ENTIRE WEEK!

I'm just a little behind the times with this was the Technique Lovers Challenge about a month ago on SCS LOL... anyhow, I finally decided to check it out and see how it was done...and WOW it is EZ PZ! I broke in my new PMS sentiment to make this just arrived the other day.

Two Blog Candies you need to check out :)

First...check out Dorothy's very unique Colorbox "quilt" inkpad at Never Enough Rubber Stamps.

And... Toodles and Binks is celebrating the release of Sally-Ann's new line up with some candy, too.

Soft & Pretty SU cards

This is my submission for Joni's Super Challenge Saturday sketch by Maria Bell. I used the Color Dare combo of Really Rust, Baja Breeze and Summer Sun. I have to admit...if I hadn't seen this card on the Daily Dare blog, I wouldn't have even contemplated this color combo, but it's really fantastic in person. So thanks for the inspiration Deb!

This card combines the SCS sketch and Color Combos for this week. The flowers are from Echoes of Kindness, one of the current Level 2 Hostess Sets.

More MOJO Madness

I loved this week's MOJO sketch so much that I've made 3 more cards this morning with it. The whale is from SU's Pun Fun set and the paper is Urban Garden.
Now I have a little story about this perfectly cute little poodle. You may remember that I won some awesome blog candy from Sally-Ann at Grab a Doodle included BG Sultry paper and matching embellies, as well as the cute Hoot Hoot owl download. I e-mailed her last week to let her know that the package had arrived and THANKS so much. I also mentioned to her that I was searching for a cute poodle for cards for my DD to make with me and that I thought one in her style would be just perfect. Now, I know designers are busy people...we all are for that matter, and I thought at best she would add my request to her list and I might see a poodle a few months down the road. BUT NO! Sally-Ann is soooo awesome that just a few days later Prudence was available! Sally-Ann, YOU ROCK! Prudence has a beau name Percival too, but DD isn't fond of "boys" yet LOL (and whew!). So, to show my appreciation for Sally-Ann's AWESOMENESS and generous nature, here are my first two Prudence the Poodle cards, using BG Sultry paper and some of the ribbon she included.
Don't you just love her? I can't wait to make matching cards for all of DD's poodles... she has black, grey, pink and purple ones so far...Maybe I can make them all little ATC's :)
THANKS Sally-Ann! We love Prudence.

Club Anya Blog Hop!

Welcome to my little space in the Club Anya Blog Hop! I've been looking for an excuse to do another one of these cute stepper cards and I thought the Blog Hop was the perfect opportunity. I sure wish I had Rock the Farm, tho...oh well...I think Alice looks like a good 'ol country girl, don't you? And, because she is a digi, I was able to reduce her size a bit to make her fit the scale of the animals of the many benefits of digi stamps, IMHO!

Here's a side view to help you see the layers/dimension of the card. The piggies are attached to the front mountain on pop dots, and I added a bit of "mud" for them to play in LOL. The front cow is also on pop dots and the tree in behind is attached to the cows to give it a bit more height. The bluebird is from Pretty Hat Anya, the animals from McSplendid, and the barn, tree & windmill are from Doodlefactory Country. Everything is colored with SU markers.

Now, if you popped in here first and want to participate in the whole blog hop, you need to start at Club Anya where there is a list of everyone participating. And don't forget to check in at The Greeting Farm later to see the new releases.

Thanks for stopping by! "Cowments" always welcome Tee Hee.

My First DT position

I am so excited to announce that I will be working on the Design Team (DT) for Modern Sugar Blvd! And I've got some great company there too...if you like digi you're gonna love this company. The store opens on April 20th and will have lots of unique products. To tide you over, here's a sneaky peek of my round 2 submissions...I'll post the full projects on the 20th!

Sheetload of Cards

If you haven't checked out Sheetload of Cards yet, this is a great month to do so. It's a monthly e-zine that uses one sketch to guessed it...a "sheetload" of cards. The e-zine includes the dimensions for each piece of the sketch and tells you how to lay out the pieces to make efficient use of your paper...or how to make just one card if you prefer. This month's sponsor is The Greeting Farm, home of Anya & Ian! I've been following Sheetload for a while, but finally this month decided to play along.
If you become a follower of the Sheetload Blog this month, you will be entered for a chance to win a Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio set. If you play along with this month's sketch you could win either TGF's Pupstar or Miss Anya.
And for those of you who are really paying attention....notice the pearl necklace??? I finally found some teeny tiny pearls at, of all places, Dollarama! I think they're Kaiser craft pearls in a different package as they're done in a roundy-swirl just like the Kaiser ones :)

MOJO Monday

Thankfully my MOJO was back on this morning while DD was at pre-school...I got sooo much done! Here is my submission for MOJO Monday 82 and The Pink Elephant's color challenge "Pink, Yellow & Green".

I got this cute Bella "Is that a cupcake on your head?" image on the Canadian Express Image Swap on SCS. She seemed perfect for this week's MOJO sketch. Then I saw some scraps of this Making Memories flower paper leftover from my church Easter cards, so I based my colors on that for TPE. The colors are actually Sage Shadow, Blush Blossom and So Saffron if you're wondering...Blush Blossom is pink, right? LOL

Another DT Call for Y'all :)

Hi everyone,

I've made it through the 5 hour drive to spend the weekend with my in-laws :) So, no cards for me for a few days...but I just saw a post on Joni's blog about another new DT Call for Digital Tuesday. Check it out...I did :)

Happy Easter weekend everyone!

PMS Challenge Cards

My MOJO was on SLLLLLOOWWWWW MOTION today. I had the house all to myself for 2 hours and just couldn't get moving...I did the card below first...wasn't really happy with it and then tried again with the one above for MOJO Monday...I love Julee's sketches...I have yet to use one that didn't "WORK" for me. Some of my most favorite creations are done with MOJO sketches. These colors worked for the PMS Challenge too as they're kind of Easter-y :)

This card...uhhh...needs something. I think the reason I'm not happy with it is because the red & Orange I used on Kirsten don't "go" with the card...what do you think?Either way, the colors were inspired by the PMS Inspiration Challenge picture of dyeing Easter eggs. The sketch is from Card Positioning Systems. Oh YEAH....and look...I forgot to add her wings AGAIN! LOL...maybe she's not really a fairy.

Easter Cards

Here are the other two Easter Cards I did at my church event on Sunday. I am seriously loving the whimiscal nature of the Doodlefactory animals. The cute DSP is from Making of the few times I've gone into the LSS looking for something specific, found something that worked (I was looking for eggs, oh well), and actually used it within a couple of days!

This DSP is from a Brenda Walton stack I've been hoarding for at least a year. The sentiment is computer generated. I embossed the bunny & eggs with Versamark & EP. Not sure if that embossing qualifies for The Pink Elephant this week, but it's my submission...FOR NOW :) I wasn't even going to post these cards, but I'm kind of all Eastered out now, and so many of the challenges this week are for Easter or both of these cards are for the following Easter Challenges: Fun Frilled, Sweet N Sassy Stamps, Our Creative Corner.

PMS Basket

This is going to be short & sweet...I'm having a near-vomiting migraine chocolate (Smarties) is now on my list of no-nos... We had a chocolate smartie ice-cream cake for DDs 4th birthday party this morning.

Anyhow, here is my basket for the PaperMakeup Stamps challenge for this week. The basket was cut on the cricut. I forgot to put her wings on...I was going to make them from acetate :) I'll add them later, but wanted to get this up before the deadline.

My camera DIED!

So, I went to take a pic of this card yesterday and my digital camera appears to have died. Thankfully this card is flat enough to scan on my scanner...but it might be a while before I post anything new. I have to borrow a camera from my sister until I find out if mine is worth repairing :( Anyhow...I did manage to scan this card for Gabby's Super Saturday sketch challenge. There's still time to play along if you would like to join in. I won this Oriental Garden set on the Our Craft Lounge blog hop a while back and I'm finally just breaking it in...asian is not really my thing, but it was a free set, so I want to TRY to make it work. I like my image, just not the full card...maybe because it's so dark and not very spring-y (the sentiment says Spring, if you can't make it out)? Not really sure... I think I will use it again, just with brighter, lighter colors...

29 and Holding

This is my attempt at the MFT sketch challenge at SCS this week. It's a super-sized card...about 5x7. I only have a few images from the Canadian Express Image swap I started, so I don't have a lot to work with and this just seemed to work. The color combo is for the Color Throwdown 35...but I'm too late to submit :) I did start this card a week ago, but life happens.

New digi images

The other day I won a digi download of this great set Hoot Hoot from Sally Ann...and today I created my first card with it...unfortunately, the paper I used didn't color well, but it's still a cute card. I'm still trying to find the best paper to work with digis & SU markers. This layout is the MOJO Monday sketch for this week. I just realized there were supposed to be brads or something in the top left corner...ooops :)

Now this modern missy is from a new company called Modern Sugar Blvd. Hop on over there and download her for free :) They're also looking for DT members. Since I was in a MOJO mood...I used last week's Mojo Monday sketch that I hadn't had a chance to use.
And don't forget to keep an eye out for the opening of the new Modern Sugar Blvd store on April 20!

Butterfly CASEs

Here are two really quick cards I cased from SCS. The green & pink combo was inspired by of my stamping idols & e-friends. After playing with this set, I can't believe I haven't inked it up before!
On the orange card, the butterfly is stamped twice, with the second one glued on top of the first, just by the body, so the wings "fly".
On the celery base, I stamped the leaves in Garden Green and then used Basic Black on Banana for the butterfly, and basic black on Pink Passion for the flowers. EZ PZ :)
Now, all my loyal customers who are looking at this are going to say..."You used Basic Black over Stazon?" Yes, I tried both and in this case the Basic Black looked better...just goes to show there's no steadfast rules in stamping!
